  • It's Monday! Be sure to watch our latest StoryScape to fully immerse yourself in the meditative sights and sounds of winter in the heart of Maine. Located North of Old Town, Maine, the banks of Pushaw Stream have been home to the Penobscot Nation since immemorial. Archaeological research has revealed human occupation along Pushaw Stream's winding banks for over 4,500 years; making it the longest-occupied location within the interior region of Maine. Various artifacts including projectile points, plummets, pottery, and more have been located here and this particular location was likely used as a fishing camp. It is an incredible experience to visit this location knowing that innumerable generations of people have called this river home and gazed upon its wondrous winding shores. • In Old Town, Maine, a remnant of a bygone era rests dormant among the towering pines. Built during the Cold War, this underground facility was meant to protect local officials coordinating emergency response in the event of a nuclear attack on nearby Bangor. Now, blanketed in snow, the bunker stands silent; only the sounds of distant machinery and haunting winds surround it. Imagine the weight of responsibility on those who would have sought shelter here, while the world above faced unimaginable destruction. What stories does this incredible location instill in you?

  • Put your headphones in for this one! Jasper Beach is now available as a short 15-minute StoryScape with an original score from Peter Bark. Jasper Beach is located along the rocky shores of Machiasport, Maine, and is home to one of the most unique beach sounds one could immerse themselves in. As each wave rises and falls, it pushes and pulls small rocks up and down the slope of the beach creating a poetic "pop rock" sound. While it's truly a breathtaking sound to listen to in person, we've captured it in ambisonics for you to enjoy. Click below to immerse yourself in our newest StoryScape! • Story Stroll is excited to share a project we've produced over the past few months for the University of Maine. This series tells the incredible stories of various students at the University of Maine and how both the college and the state of Maine as a whole have impacted their lives for the better. We trekked down the Penobscot River on rafts, filmed breathtaking sunsets on Jasper Beach, froze our fingers off in breathtaking snowfalls, and filmed during epic hockey games to bring YOU the best stories at UMaine. To watch the full series and send your kid (or yourself, either way) to UMaine, visit umaine.edu/pines We produced 22 videos for this project, between the primary content and associated marketing materials, and delivered over 1 hour and 15 minutes of content. It has been a pleasure to work with the University of Maine and all of the wonderful staff, students, and team members who made this project possible. We believe that advertising is broken. Ads bombard us daily. It doesn't have to be this way. At Story Stroll, we produce ads on a give-and-take basis. If you are taking time away from the audience, what do they get in return? With Story Stroll, the answer's a good story. We use the same storytelling formats for clients that we use for our original productions. So reach out today and see how Story Stroll can help you connect with audiences. Stories on the go. Wherever you stroll.

  • We immensely enjoyed working with the University of Maine on this Story Stroll DocWalk educating the community on the story of Maine's forests. We're here to tell your story and captivate your audience. Reach out to see how we can tell your story together! Climate change isn't just a headline. Scorching heatwaves, devastating droughts, and increasingly frequent extreme weather events are having very real impacts on local and global environments. While scientists race to mitigate the damage, understanding how our changing climate affects ecosystems is paramount. At the University of Maine, Dr. Jay Wason III, Assistant Professor of Forest Ecosystem Physiology, is spearheading research that delves into this critical issue. His lab meticulously examines how heatwaves and drought conditions are affecting Maine's iconic forests, as well as other tree species that may migrate into the state due to shifts in climate. This information empowers foresters and ecosystem managers to make informed decisions, safeguarding Maine's forests – not just as economic powerhouses, but as cherished cultural landscapes. By anticipating the challenges ahead, Dr. Wason's research is paving the way for a future where Maine's forests continue to thrive, even as the climate around them evolves.

  • It's 1779. The British, occupying major cities like Philadelphia, have designs on territory in New England. More specifically, the area of modern-day Maine. Their goal? Take control of Maine's natural resources and establish a new region called New Ireland. Massachusetts, in control of this region, decides to act. They assemble the largest armada of the Revolutionary War. Yet, despite their numbers and firepower, discord and inexperience weaves itself into the final act of this little-known story from the early days of the United States. This is the story of the Penobscot Expedition, the worst naval defeat in United States history before the events of Pearl Harbor. This Story Stroll is brought to you by the Bangor Historical Society.
