StreetBoxPHL wants to make it easier for community members to make their neighborhood streets safer and more livable. This means helping them meet and overcome regulatory and funding obstacles. This means that more neighborhoods and more Philadelphians will have access to life-saving, community-enhancing places and spaces.

There's some amazing stewardship going on at Walk Around Philadelphia
Join us at The Cedar Works in West Philadelphia for an informal indoor/outdoor celebration with members of the growing community of Walk Around Philadelphia perimeter-walkers and project supporters. We'll also be premiering some brand new Walk swag that will be awarded to those who've completed the entire walk! This gathering will feature JJ's famous lentil soup, a giant bonfire w/ s'mores, a slideshow of recent images from the walk, and opportunities to connect with perimeter-walkers & help shape the project's next steps. It's been another amazing year of Walk Around Philadelphia programs, with two fully sold-out cycles of the walk and several great new outreach opportunities and other events in between and now it's time to gather, reconnect, reflect and envision what comes next for this project. Trail use remained robust this November. An all-time November high was recorded by the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission at the Schuylkill Banks, exceeding even the previous highest November count in 2020. Use of the Chester Valley Trail, Delaware River Trail, the D&L Trail, US 202 Parkway Trail, and Wissahickon Trail also remained strong. In 2024 StreetBoxPHL partnered with the Design Advocacy Group to champion ROW Reform Opportunities. We worked with the Community Design Collaborative to help community across Philly design safe, and equitable spaces. Our ROW Roundtables engaged over 350 stewards, teaching them about paving, funding, and place making. Help us build more capacity to create meaningful change in the most public of public realms.
