Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) are proving to be a game-changer in both residential and commercial construction, offering superior durability and energy efficiency. As climate change intensifies the frequency of extreme weather events, building with SIPs provides engineers with a solution that stands up to seismic and high-wind conditions. With their enhanced load-bearing capacity, air-impermeability, and seismic resilience, SIPs create safer, more efficient structures. By utilizing SIPs in regions prone to natural disasters, engineers are helping build a more resilient future. Learn how SIPs can make your next project more reliable and sustainable. 📖Read more: https://lnkd.in/gtkXmx2t #ConstructionInnovation #Sustainability #StructuralEngineering

As energy codes tighten, structural thermal bridging has become an increasing concern for structural engineers. Often overlooked, thermal bridging—especially through structural penetrations like balconies, beams, and parapets—can lead to significant energy losses, reduced occupant comfort, and increased operational carbon emissions. This issue can even result in costly legal and financial ramifications. Early collaboration between structural engineers, architects, and energy modelers is key to preventing severe thermal bridging and ensuring better building performance. In this article, we explore practical mitigation strategies for addressing these critical design challenges. 📖Read the article: https://lnkd.in/gjsXSBKS #StructuralEngineering #Sustainability #EnergyEfficiency
