What a year! 2024 taught us patience and grit. The year started off slow but we hunkered down and chased our passions. Ultimately, it was a good year and we are steadily building the firm we envision. We are incredibly grateful for each and every opportunity. Thank you to our previous, current, new, and repeat clients for trusting us to bring your dreams to life. We measure our success by your happiness. Wishing a joyous and prosperous new year to all! #chicagoarchitecture #chicagoarchitect #lieu #lieuchicago #studiolieu #architect #architecture #womeninarchitecture #wosb #wbe #womenownedbusiness #smallbusiness #yearfour #shapethefuture

Another great event by PWC at IIT. Danielle participated in the Careers in Construction workshop talking one-on-one with students in small groups about what a career in architecture can look like, how it ties in with other professional construction roles, and advice for students pursuing such careers.
Professional Women in Construction Chicago Chapter’s Mentorship College Outreach subcommittee recently hosted a successful Careers in Construction Workshop. Thanks to Illinois Institute of Technology Career Services for partnering on this event. Led by Maggie Noldan, the group workshopped how to start your career in construction before splitting into breakout groups focused on Architecture (Danielle Beaulieu), Building Information Modeling (BIM) (Julianna Kovacs Field), Owner PM (Nicole Welch), and Estimating (Hannah Lux). This was one of the most interactive and enjoyable networking events I’ve ever participated in. Thank you Professional Women in Construction Chicago Chapter for organizing! Met so many terrific potential collaborators.
Day 3 of #ConstructionInclusionWeek is focused on Supplier Diversity. Promoting diversity in the AEC industry is a pillar of Professional Women in Construction Chicago Chapter’s mission so we launched a new event series in 2024 called Meet the Primes and recently hosted an A/E-centered Meet the Primes at Turner Construction Company. The event generated introductions between prime architect/engineers and MWDBE-certified subconsultants. We enjoyed breakfast along with meaningful connections from which future diverse partnerships will flourish! Thank you to all who participated and look for more Meet the Primes events in 2025. We'll only ensure that we remain on the path to continuous improvement by tracking our progress along the way. Don't miss our next DEI Committee event on November 6-- Northwestern Medicine will host our #CandidConvo focused on measuring DEI progress in the AEC industry. We will discuss which key metrics are most useful in tracking progress-- from turnover rates of minority groups, leadership opportunities, pay equity, and hiring process to overall feeling of inclusion. This is our last #CandidConvo of 2024 and space is limited so register today at https://lnkd.in/eHJ-YUfv #ConstructionInclusionWeek #SupplierDiversity #MeetthePrimes #DEICandidConvo #ProfessionalWomeninConstruction #ProfessionalWomeninConstructionChicago

Earlier this spring we entered a local competition to design a new 6,000 sf recreation center for children’s day camps and afterschool care with a focus on arts & dance programming in historic Oak Park. Keeping program, access, budget, context, and sustainability in mind, we had the option to reuse the existing Field Center or build new. After careful analysis, we proposed a new one-story building at the northwest corner of Field Park. There were 26 design submissions. Although we were not one of the three shortlisted, we are proud of the cheerful, welcoming, kid-centric, sustainable design we produced in a relatively short period of time. It reignited our love of public projects and determination to do impactful work with & within communities. You can read more about our design at our website: https://lnkd.in/gT8mmumJ. #chicagoarchitecture #chicagoarchitect #lieu #lieuchicago #studiolieu #architect #womeninarchitecture #wbe #architecture #interiordesign #designcompetition #publicdesign #publicarchitecture #communitydesign #parkdesign #parkdistrict #kidsdesign #kidsarchitecture #sustainabledesign #oakpark #oakparkil #oakparkarchitecture #fieldcenter #aparkwithin
