We delve deeper into the science of puberty and uncover the knowledge we missed in our own education. If you haven't discovered Amaze Film and TV, you absolutely should—their thoughtful and impactful work is essential for every young person around the globe. We can't wait to integrate their insightful videos into our game! We recently learned from the brilliant Vanessa Kroll Bennett and Cara Natterson, MD groundbreaking insights into the history of puberty research, highlighting how puberty is starting earlier and lasting longer due to chronic stressors and external chemicals in our environment that are impacting our endocrine systems (like antibiotics in chicken feed). On average, girls are now starting their periods nine months earlier, and the conversation often sidelines boys. Their session, which includes ASL interpretation, will be available in 48 hours. It's vital to equip our youth with essential sexual health knowledge. If you’re a parent, teacher, or anyone who cares for young people, I encourage you to check this out: Amaze Educators Conference. Let’s empower the next generation together! https://lnkd.in/eyzKemD

Need accessibility experts? That was a trick question. We all do. Too often the cost and the time make it deprioritized. With incredible companies like Easy Surf, with amazing team members like Tarja Porkka-Kontturi, we can make games better for all. Special shout out to our amazing design lead Lula Christman for always keeping visual contrast top of mind and our accessibility consultant Harley M T. who has documented improvements for our product roadmap along the way! Game-Accessibility advocates unite!

Receiving notes like these brighten our day and affirm the positive impact. Thank you to Bea Ramos and the BeYou Youth Rising Above participants for such encouraging feedback! 🌟 "We had a great time exploring the Likely Story game for our session on Positive and Healthy relationships! Our youth thought the game was fun, informative, and relatable. As a facilitator, I loved that certain features of the game (anonymity, no need to download the game, auto-refresh, ability to play solo or in the group) allowed our participants to freely and comfortably explore their opinions on tough topics and speak their mind in a judgement-free space. The real-life scenarios presented in Likely Story gave us a lot to think about across our diverse experiences as women and discuss as a group. I loved that a game was able to be the catalyst for those conversations. The BeYou program looks forward to continuing to incorporate Likely Story as a resource tool for our Positive and Healthy Relationships session. I would highly recommend Likely Story as an accessible resource for any youth worker who is looking to create a safe, brave space for their students to explore and navigate complex relationships." Whether you want to book a demo or curious to weave this magic into your pwn program, we’ve here to help! Reach out at hello@studiojayne.com for details. We just returned from New York City, immersing ourselves in the growing Games for Change industry. One of the most incredible experiences was witnessing "Maia: The Birth of a Superhero," a groundbreaking piece that addresses menstrual health and challenges the stigma and shame associated with it. While you can't hear our founder's voice, she was repeatedly saying, "Wow! Wow! This is amazing." "Maia: The Birth of a Superhero" received the 'New Voices' Special Jury Mention Prize at the 2023 Tribeca Festival and was nominated for the Festival de Cannes Compétition Immersive 2024. Check it out here 👇🏽 👇 👇🏿 https://lnkd.in/gwU6YwJv Big thanks to Asi Burak & Naomi Clark for being the reason we are here. We also extend our gratitude to Suzanne Seggerman for co-founding this important gathering and Susanna Pollack for leading us into the future. See you next year!

We are still riding the post-pitch wave with incredible connections and positive feeling thanks to the vision of Roxanne Leduc for pushing growth via Cap Inclusive and Femtech Canada to raise this severely underfunded industry up. (See: 13% of all digital health venture capital is allocated to FemTech vs Impact potential for 51% of the female-identifying population.) Don't just take our word for it: Look at the numbers. The sextech and sexual wellness market was valued at around US$ 576.5 million in 2023. With a projected CAGR of 19.2% for the next ten years, the market is likely to reach a valuation of nearly US$ 3,347.8 million by 2033. There are MANY reasons to list the need for better products and services for women and girls – one being the growing cohort of people suffering from sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) has triggered the demand for sextech and sexual wellness.

Listening to the FemTech panels at MaRS Discovery District, and loving seeing this sector gain traction. These leaders drive innovation unapologetically toward women's needs, recognizing their intersectionality. Did you know 1 in 10 women suffer from endometriosis? It impacts fertility and is underreported. Common symptoms include pelvic pain, painful periods, infertility, pain during sex, anxiety, and depression. Shockingly, it can take up to 5 years for a proper diagnosis. This is just one of MANY issues women face. Organizations like Afynia Laboratories Laboratories, led by experts like Jocelyn Wessels, Ph.D., are accelerating change by addressing these gaps. We support all of these crucial conversations and innovations in women and girls health. #FemTech #WomensHealth #Innovation #WomensHealth #PreventionEducation #sexualhealth #SexEd
