Congratulations to our SUN 'n FUN Executive Director of Airshows & Attractions, Dennis Dunbar! 🎉✈️🎆 "Dennis Dunbar was named as the 2024 recipient of the Art Scholl Memorial Showmanship Award. Presented each year by ICAS to recognize excellence in air show entertainment and showmanship, the award is intended to exemplify the qualities of showmanship demonstrated by Art Scholl throughout his long career as an air show performer. Singled-out for the trailblazing and creative work he has done over the last several years to make night shows more entertaining and dramatic, Dunbar becomes the first event organizer to be named as a recipient of an award that had previously been presented to only air show performers. As one person who nominated Dunbar for the award said, “You don’t have to be a pilot to be the greatest showman in the air show business.” Dennis was recognized for the unique and uniquely entertaining way that he blends airplanes, pyrotechnics, lasers, drones, music, smoke and noise to produce air shows unlike anything previously offered to air show audiences.
