Shoutout to one of our amazing clients, WayForward Resources! Food and housing are the basic building blocks of stability. Yet a record number of families in our community are struggling right now. WayForward Resources (formerly Middleton Outreach Ministry) works with our community to create food security and housing stability. The organization provides access to nutritious food for people throughout Dane County and support that helps people stay in their homes in Middleton, Cross Plains and west Madison. Last year, they served over 13,000 people–twice as many as the year before and the most ever in its history. Half of the people who visited the food pantry last year were coming for the first time. And the needs are continuing to grow! Food pantry visits have tripled over the last three years, while the amount of food available to distribute has dropped. These serious challenges require all of us to come together for our neighbors to help find long-term solutions.
