Settle in, it's Sunday night and wow have we had A WEEKEND! I am completely overwhelmed to say on Friday night we won "Outstanding Business Leader" less than 20 employees, in the Business NSW - Central Coast region. Outstanding Business Leader - Recognises an inspirational business leader who has demonstrated a commitment to their workplace, industry, and the community through leadership, whilst providing mentorship to others, to create a smarter and more inclusive future and to being an outstanding mentor and business leader. To think that we nearly didn't enter (but that's a story for another day). I'm not gunna lie, the last 12-18 months have been tough, like really tough. When the economy tightens, learning and development is seen to be a nice to have. We know that what we do adds value but we had to be patient and wait it out. I'm so glad we did because the past few months have been amazing. 💪 On Friday night the line up of finalists was huge - I'd messaged many of them prior congratulating them on the win, as I thought they had it in the bag - such inspiring humans. I wanted to thank you, my amazing clients past, present and future for trusting us with your most important asset - your people. We can't do what we do without YOU! My talented team who take my ideas and go next level. This started as a one woman show, and we have grown, sharpened up our offerings all because of these legends. They push me to be better, try harder and be braver! Last but not least my family who sacrifice so much for my biz, with travel, late nights, event fatigue etc. My awards cheer squad included my team, my friends and my daughter Teah who at 9 years old when she heard about the gender pay gap told me to "FIX IT MUM". She said "you build confidence and leadership in people and you can do that for women". And our women's leadership program was born from her demand 10 years ago!! Now it's time to take stock, to reflect on the risks taken and to celebrate the win. Not just to portray confidence but to start believing in yourself wholly and without reservation. To understand how to build true connection with those around you. And to bridge the gap between Men and Women in the Workplace financially, and understanding that to do this we need to invite men to the table so they understand all points of view. Suzy is starting to run these events regularly and I encourage you to go and be part of the change.
