We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended the Cooper’s Hawk release at Eagle Watch Nature Trail on November 22! It was a truly unforgettable experience witnessing the rehabilitation and return of this magnificent bird to its natural habitat. 🦅 For those who missed it, we captured the moment when the hawk was released—check out the video below! The hawk was eager to take flight, soaring up into a tree and looking back at all of us as if to say goodbye. It was a beautiful reminder of the importance of wildlife conservation and the impact we can have on our environment. We are also excited to share that thanks to the generous $5,000 AEP Foundation Grant from SWEPCO and AEP, Northsong Wild Bird Rehabilitation can continue their vital work in rehabilitating wild birds. Together, we can help protect and preserve our wildlife!

As we honor our veterans this Veterans Day, we take pride in the fact that SWEPCO is headquartered in Northwest Louisiana, home to Barksdale Air Force Base. Barksdale serves as the headquarters for the Air Force Global Strike Command, the Eighth Air Force, and the 307th Bomb Wing. Throughout its storied history, Barksdale has been pivotal in supporting a variety of aircraft and defending our great nation, providing both conventional and nuclear capabilities to the world’s finest Air Force. We are especially proud to have our own William Bradford VP of External Affairs, serving as the honorary commander of Barksdale. In this role, he and his wife recently sponsored a Thanksgiving lunch for the 307th Security Forces squadron, fostering community and camaraderie among our service members. During the lunch, William had the honor of meeting TSgt. Johnny “Ricky” Wright, one of SWEPCO’s very own citizen soldiers, who works diligently in our Texarkana warehouse. Today, let us express our gratitude to all the veterans who have served and continue to serve our country. Your dedication and sacrifice are deeply appreciated. #VeteransDay #SWEPCO #BarksdaleAFB #HonoraryCommander #SupportOurTroops #CommunityPride
