Last month, we brought 60 college students from across Virginia to the State Capitol in Richmond to advocate for the Hunger Free Campus Act. Thanks to everyone's efforts, the bill was recently passed with $500,000 in funding for colleges to combat student hunger on their campuses! 🎉 This would not have been possible without the dedication and support from the students, staff, partners, and legislators who worked with us throughout this process. 🤝 Read more:

This email went out yesterday morning, from the #USDA. The polarizing message and language is only the tip of the iceberg. It's also blatantly untrue. Undocumented workers in our country do not and have not had access to SNAP (foodstamps). International students do not and have not had access to SNAP. The disinformation coming from our government is maddening, which is why #SwipeOutHunger shares stories and data that can elevate the realities of #hunger in #HigherEd. The $230 billion in SNAP cuts over the next 8 years is just the start, more obstacles to food access are coming.
