Swissnex in Boston and New York reposted this
It’s been a busy few months representing Switzerland’s quantum ecosystem! 🇨🇭⚛️ 🌎 In September, I joined Andreas Masuhr from the Swiss Quantum Commission and Loïc Fave at the Quantum World Congress in Washington, DC. There, I presented the Swiss Quantum Ecosystem as part of a session on international quantum programs. 🏔️ Later that month, Swissnex co-organized a panel on International Quantum programs at Quantum Industry Day in Switzerland, hosted at QuantumBasel. I presented a comparative analysis of four national quantum strategies and their implications for Switzerland. Joining me on the panel were representatives from the UK, US, Denmark, and EU. Together we painted a broad map of the many initiatives promoting international collaboration in quantum. 🇨🇭🤝 🇨🇦 In October, I participated in the inaugural Swiss-Canadian Quantum Symposium in Calgary, organized by Swissnex Science and Technology Officer Urs Obrist. I moderated a panel on bilateral collaboration potential featuring quantum ecosystem leaders from Geneva, Zurich, Calgary, and Toronto. The Symposium also highlighted the growing partnership between Calgary’s Quantum City and Basel’s QAI Ventures, which featured a hackathon hosted by QAI Ventures. 🚀 Finally, in December I traveled to #Q2B Silicon Valley, a leading business conference for the quantum sector, where I once again shared insights and updates on the Swiss Quantum Ecosystem. From research hubs like ETH Zürich and University of Geneva, to ecosystem builders like QAI Ventures and the OQI – Open Quantum Institute, the many Swiss partners I met along my journey were, like me, busy spreading the word about Switzerland’s excellent quantum ecosystem, with its commitments to top-tier research, international collaboration, and pursuit of quantum for the greater good. Here’s to continuing the good work in 2025 – which has been declared by UNESCO the International Year of Quantum! 🎉 Anu Unnikrishnan Catherine Lefebvre, PhD Wolfgang Tittel Thomas Landis Anca Albu Alexandra Beckstein

🌍📚✨ Earlier this year Clara Weber, Senior Lecturer at ZHAW and environmental psychologist, visited Cornell University as part of the ZHAW Staff Mobility Program. During her two week stay with her young children in tow, she met with colleagues at leading departments like the Cornell University - College of Human Ecology and the Cornell University ILR School, exploring environmental stress, neurodiversity, and workplace inclusion. 🔍🎓 Highlights of her stay included her time at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, hosted by Kirsty Lauder, PhD, and her exchanges with experts like Susanne Bruyere and Nancy Wells, with whom she was able to explore a shared focus on neurodiversity, inclusion, and sensory processing. Throughout her time at Cornell, Dr. Weber also shared her work in multiple presentations, sparking valuable discussions and opening doors to future collaborations. Dr. Weber looks forward to sharing insights from her experience with ZHAW colleagues across departments, including IFM, Public Health, Ergotherapy, and Psychology. 🌱✨ ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences ZHAW School of Life Sciences and Facility Management #ZHAW #ResearchExchange #EnvironmentalPsychology
