Syzygy has seen tremendous success in our field trials. Our photoreactors have exceeded expected performance levels. Unfortunately, major institutions and companies are backing off their decarbonization goals and we are anticipating a more difficult environment for all clean tech during the near term. This market shift has forced us to reduce headcount — a move that will impact over half of the company. It’s a devastating decision to eliminate jobs — especially because we care about every one of our employees. They represent the very best talent in our industry. Their contributions have made this amazing technology a reality, and we’re so grateful for every one of them. We are focused on supporting those affected by offering outplacement services to help ease them into their next chapter. We are confident that the remaining streamlined team will drive Syzygy forward and successfully commercialize this technology, opening new opportunities for the energy industry.

We were honored to host Innovation Zero's Elliott James today at our demonstration facility in Pearland. If it's not already in your calendar, put it there: Innovation Zero America Congress 17th & 18th June 2025 Palmer Events Center, Austin. https://lnkd.in/ee23RR_b #CleanTech #EnergyForward #Innovation #Entrepreneurship
A huge thank you to Suman and the team at Syzygy Plasmonics for the incredible tour of your facility today. Looking forward to exploring potential Innovation Zero partnerships in the coming weeks!

🔆 Syzygy deploys the world's largest all-electric ammonia cracking system and proves the viability of using ammonia as an energy carrier. 🔆 “We made history with this project,” said Suman Khatiwada, PhD. "The next step is small commercial plant deployment." LOTTE chemical recently commissioned and tested Syzygy's ammonia e-cracking reactor cell at its facility in Ulsan, South Korea with logistical support from Sumitomo Corporation of Americas and Sumitomo Corporation Korea. The outstanding results in Ulsan set the stage for energy importing regions like Korea to engage in clean ammonia imports. The Rigel cell operated flawlessly throughout all phases of the trial. By manipulating flowrate and light intensity during separate testing phases, the cell produced all-time best achievements: - 11 kWh/kg of hydrogen - 81 percent energy efficiency - 99 percent conversion - 290 kg/d of hydrogen These outstanding results at a third-party site give Syzygy a clear pathway to achieve 8 kWh/kg of hydrogen at the cell level in future Rigel cell designs. We are excited to announce that Syzygy was selected to be part of ARPA-E's Vision OPEN 2024 program for supporting innovative energy solutions! We were awarded $2.5M to develop a new transformative pathway for #AmmoniaSynthesis. When commercial, this technology will produce #CleanAmmonia at distributed (small/medium) or centralized (large) scales with economics that are expected to outperform the conventional Haber-Bosch (HB) process. Syzygy's photoreactor technology is fully electric, eliminates combustion, and is expected to operate at one-tenth of HB pressures. Because #ammonia production consumes around 2% of energy globally, this technology has the potential to transform the #energy, #chemicals, #fertilizers, and #hydrogen markets. Special thanks to Hossein Robatjazi and the Syzygy R&D team. Learn more about #ARPAEVISION here https://lnkd.in/eXKtPq2S Trevor Best Suman Khatiwada, PhD
