Breaking news: David Rosenberg—or “Rosie” as he’s affectionately known—a creative maestro and cultural catalyst, is retiring from Tadiem. Yes, you read that right. 😮
For over 24 years, David has been an architect of our success. His talent is exceptional. His empathy, immeasurable. His impact on clients, businesses, and Canadian politics, almost incalculable. Here are just a few highlights from his distinguished career:
· David started in 1987 at Woolco Woolworth as an in-house copywriter (for Millennials and Gen Z, Woolco Woolworth was a department store).
· He was the fifth hire at Geoffrey B. Roche & Partners, where he honed his advertising writing chops and gained his creative reputation.
· He has won over 300 national and international awards for a diverse range of clients, including IKEA, McDonald’s, Scotiabank, Nike, the Liberal Party of Canada, and many more.
· He became an agency ECD at age 32!
· 7 years before joining Bensimon Byrne, David was chatting with Jack Bensimon and Peter Byrne. He was impressed with their guiding principle of ‘Talent and Decency in Equal Measure,’ a value so foundational that it forms the acronym Tadiem – (fun fact!)
· He was hired as the Creative Director of Bensimon Byrne in September 2000. He almost immediately pitched and won Scotiabank Retail Banking. Then, became an owner and partner in 2006.
David’s passion for political advertising has also led to some legendary achievements. He wrote campaigns that defeated Stephen Harper (twice!), made Paul Martin Prime Minister in 2004, secured Kathleen Wynne’s win in 2014, and propelled Justin Trudeau to a historic victory in 2015. His work helped turn 36 seats into 184, the largest seat differential in Canadian history. He shared this success story in a keynote at Cannes in 2016.
Rosenberg mic-drop. But wait, there’s more.
In 2017, David co-created Air Quotes Media, a political media and podcast company that produces The Herle Burly, Curse of Politics, and Hotel Pacifico—three phenomenal and highly respected podcasts. In fact, Curse of Politics was ranked 26th on the 2022 Maclean’s Power List of “50 Canadians who are forging paths, leading the debate and shaping how we think and live.”
Thank you, David, for your remarkable 24-years at Tadiem. Your legacy of creativity, leadership, and integrity have left an indelible mark on us, our clients, and the industry. We wish you the best in your well-deserved “retirement” and look forward to seeing what you achieve next.
This might be your last week at Tadiem. But your brilliance remains.👏
