About us

𝑨𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑼𝒔 Take Stock in Children is a nonprofit organization transforming Florida one student at a time. Working in every county throughout Florida, Take Stock in Children of Sarasota is 1 of 46 affiliate offices. We are committed to breaking the cycle of poverty for low-income, academically qualified students by providing opportunities for a postsecondary education. Students are matched with a volunteer mentor, equipped with college readiness services and a dedicated college success coach, awarded a college scholarship, and provided with postsecondary support through degree or certification attainment. 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑾𝒆 𝑫𝒐 𝘔𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱: Pairing students with caring, trained mentors who provide guidance and encouragement throughout their academic journey. 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱𝘴: Offering college scholarships to help students realize their higher education dreams without financial barriers. 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴: Equipping students with essential skills, knowledge, and support to navigate the path to higher education and career success.
