Dr. Xinyue Ye, endowed professor of urban planning, has been awarded the prestigious American Association of Geographers (AAG) Distinguished Scholar Award for 2025. This honor recognizes Dr. Ye’s transformative contributions at the intersection of geography, urban planning, and data science. Notably, Dr. Ye has achieved this distinction in the shortest interval in AAG history, earning the award just 15 years after completing a Ph.D. in 2010. Additionally, Dr. Ye was the first scholar elected as an AAG Fellow under the Early/Mid-Career category in 2022.
