Brand Names We Love: Madewell HOW have we never mentioned this brand before? This name is simple, clear, and effective. The choice was also initially surprising because fashion is usually about more emotional storytelling. But upon reflection, we saw it as a smart strategy. When J.Crew debuted this lower-priced (for them) line it was inspired to emphasize that their quality is higher than can be found in other mall retailers delivering crappy, "fast fashion." What do you guys think? #brandtrue #naming #brandnaming #madewell

Brand Names We Love: Farmer In The Deli. We can't recall who shared this New York deli's charming name with us (apologies) but we were just as enchanted by it as they were. We're always fans of brand names that are constructed with puns because they aid with memory and engagement. #brandtrue #brandnaming #naming

Brand Names We Love: Pretzilla. We were stopped in our tracks when we saw this pretzel company's name in a grocery store! It's not the most imaginative, but it really works. Sometimes naming is just simple. Using the suffix -zilla makes something sound powerful and expansive. It's a mixed messages name because it CAN imply destructive impulses, but it's really pretty charming and quite memorable for something as light and trivial as snack foods. #brandtrue #brandnaming #naming

Good Lessons From Bad Bosses For something completely different, Rebeca shares three really good insights she gleaned from bosses that were... well, not always her favorites. These are basic concepts, but it's always a good idea to revisit foundational truths and think about how they apply not only to business, but also to all of life. Do you have any good lessons learned from bad bosses? Let us know what your favorites are. #brandtrue #tellthetruths #captioned

Brand Names We Love: Babbel This language learning brand has one of those "mixed messages" names we often speak of, as it has a pinch of negativity. The biblical Tower of Babel was a place where no one could understand each other, and babbling can be negative, but we still think the name really works. Maybe it's because it's charming when babies babble, but we think that more than anything it's because it's a word that's really fun to say. #brandtrue #brandnaming #naming

Symbols of Reinvention In this #tellthetruths video Rebeca explains "Symbols of Reinvention." This is a term used in the marketing industry to refer to dramatic, symbolic gestures that brands sometimes take to signal to the world that they're changing course. Check it out, then please weigh in, especially if you have any good examples. #brandtrue #branding #brandstrategy #captioned
