This is one of those very rare opportunities to do something that is truly important, and impactful to the veterinary sector. ------------- JOB DESCRIPTION The Head of ECC at SAHM is an essential person for the hospital's success, ensuring it functions efficiently and delivers high-quality care. As a key founding team member, they will recruit, train, and manage clinicians, nurses, and support staff to provide top-notch emergency and critical care services. This role oversees client-facing triage services, ensuring appropriate cases reach the ICU. They will lead the intern program and work with the head of clinical operations to deliver effective staff training. Crucially, they will implement sustainable staffing practices to ensure the hospital is well-staffed for both present and future needs. ------------- DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Lead recruitment of clinical staff for ECC/ICU. Develop and deliver training for nurses and vets to ensure high standards from launch. Create written and recorded protocols for clear workflows and future staff induction. Oversee ECC: client consultations, rounds, and clinical care plans for all patients. Role-model clinical professionalism and compassionate leadership. Conduct audits for data-driven excellence. Network within the Indian veterinary sector to position the hospital as a top referral center and deliver CPD to build a clinician community. Develop team members clinically and professionally to retain talent. Engage with clinical and operational boards for efficiency and integrity. Participate in mandatory teaching, training, research programs, and accreditation processes.

  • Nursing Qualifications: • Registered Nurse with an international degree, ideally with advanced qualifications. • Experience: Seasoned small animal care professional with over 5 years of experience in a fast-paced, high-quality environment, aspiring to lead as Head Nurse • Additional preferences - experience as nursing assessor or in a clinical educational setting • Compassionate and Caring: Display a genuine love for animals and a strong commitment to their well-being and comfort. • Medical Knowledge: Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and treatments. Practise nursing at the highest level • Preference communication: Proficient in English with the ability to effectively navigate language barriers, both with and without translation support. • Teams Player: Work collaboratively within a team's environment to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients. • Availability: Be willing to work in 24*7 facility and participate in on-call rotations, if required.
