We’ve always loved making friends with copywriters and project managers. They have the most interesting career paths. As it goes, they start their careers in one area before pivoting entirely to something else, landing them where they are currently. For some, it’s subtle: an English major, turned editor, turned fashion copywriter. For others, it’s more drastic: fashion design major turned project manager turned head of marketing operations. In the world of multi-hyphenate #creatives, we wonder what it takes to let ourselves extend the boundaries of our dreams, especially if we want to earn from them. Is it necessary to niche down to make a living? Is it too late to change career paths if our competition gets younger and cheaper? Are we putting too much pressure on ourselves thinking about it at all? It’s a heavy topic for a Friday afternoon, sure, and while we don’t have answers we did want to make space for our fellow dreamers out there. Just between us, what is something you’ve always wanted to learn to do? What’s your dream? Sound off below 👇🏾
