🌍 Proud to Support Responsible Mining with Calibre Mining Corp 🌍   In partnership with Luis (Tito) Campos of SmartAccEss, TDi's Kaki Comer recently visited Calibre Mining Corp.’s operations in Nicaragua for a second year, to assess its conformance with the Responsible Gold Mining Principles.   Kaki and TDi teammate Clara Segón spent a week at Calibre’s Eastern Borosi Mine to conduct a follow up Human Rights Impact Assessment (HRIA).   At TDi Sustainability, we are dedicated to partnering with companies to navigate the complexities of human rights, sustainability, and operational success. Mining, when done responsibly, has the power to contribute positively to local communities, economies, and the environment. Our HRIAs are aligned with international human rights standards and best practices, particularly regarding the rights of local communities, suppliers, workers, Indigenous Peoples and other stakeholders.  💡 Let’s keep working towards a future where people, planet, and profit go hand in hand! Get in touch to find out how we can help your company with its human rights due diligence requirements.   #HumanRights #Sustainability #ImpactAssessment #ResponsibleMining #TDiSustainability #CalibreMining #HumanRightsInBusiness

This week the European Council adopted the EU Forced Labour Regulation - prohibiting the placing and making available on the Union market, or the export from the market, of any product made using forced labour. This marks the final phase in the EU's legislative process for banning goods produced with forced labour. The regulation will now be published in the Official Journal of the European Union, after which it will enter into force. EU countries will then have three years to start applying the new rules. TDi has produced a range of resources to help you to help you prepare for the implementation of the EU Forced Labour Regulation, and to understand how to identify where forced labour might be occurring in your supply chains. Listen to our recent podcast with James Alexander Hollins where we discuss the first steps companies should take to comply with the EU Forced Labour Regulation, and why it's often necessary to go beyond a traditional audit-based approach. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/e8iR3SzD Watch the recording of the TDi Master Class webinar we held in October, where James and Sunil Abeyasekera discussed the application of the EU Forced Labour Regulation, and its cross-compatibility with other Regulations such as the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). Watch here: https://lnkd.in/dJTAGHDd You can also download our three guidebooks on forced labour from our website: https://lnkd.in/d4HT3DHY 💡 Guidebook 1 covers the EU Forced Labour Regulation and the importance of understanding human rights risks across an organisation. 💡Guidebook 2 provides insights into detecting forced labour risks and outlines specific risk profiles for different sectors such as electronic assembly, transportation and warehousing. 💡Guidebook 3 details a framework for understanding, identifying and mitigating forced labour risks across different industries. It also introduces the TDi Forced Labour Toolkit. Get in touch to find out how TDi's Forced Labour Toolkit can help your business prepare for and comply with the EU Forced Labour Regulation.

Today the EU Parliament approved a one-year delay to the implementation of the EU Deforestation Regulation, as well as an additional set of amendments to the Regulation.    In the latest episode of TDi’s podcast series, Suits and Boots, TDi ESG Analyst, Sunil Abeyasekera looks at what these changes, and the delay, mean for businesses across the world. He examines the impact of the delay both on companies that have already prepared for the Regulation, and those that are at an early stage in their readiness. He outlines what needs to be done over the next year to meet the new deadlines, and how businesses should prioritise action going forward.    Whether you're the owner of a small coffee shop or a multinational corporation, this episode offers valuable insights on preparing for the EUDR, and what today’s announcements mean for your business. If you’re not sure where to start, or would like advice on whether the due diligence systems you’ve put in place are compatible with the EUDR and other cross-cutting EU regulations, please get in touch with TDi. 🎧 Listen now: https://lnkd.in/e8iR3SzD   #Sustainability #EUDR #SupplyChain #ESG #SuitsAndBoots #SupplyChain #DueDiligence
