Dr. Daniel Fett's presentation, "Securing the Foundations of Verifiable Credential Ecosystems", addresses the promising adoption of verifiable credentials and the crucial need to address the related security and privacy challenges. Using OpenID and IETF specifications as examples, Daniel discusses challenges in establishing trust, mitigating replay and phishing attacks, avoiding linkability and tracking, securing cross-device flows, and addressing confidentiality and (non-)repudiation.
