What I love about TeachAid is how well it addresses / accounts for our Canadian curriculums. In my case, Alberta. It even has the draft K-6 Alberta Social studies which is currently being piloted! Teachaid becomes a real game-changer for a curriculum that does not have any textbooks or resources available for it.

Finding PMF in K-12 in 2024 🏫 50% of all edtech founders we have worked with this year in the Transcend Fellowship are serving the K-12 sector. From AI copilots that address assessments and teacher burnout, to tools that help increase classroom engagement, these founders are building early-stage solutions to critical K-12 problems faced by learners & educators around the world. Here are 7 such Transcend Fellows building the future of K-12 👇 ➡️ Ariel Andrés Sánchez Rojas - Clio Circle: reducing bullying in schools ➡️ Marjorie McKeown - ALEE: tech-enabled tool that gives teachers everything they need to teach a book ➡️ Dean Celaj - GoTeacher: enables school districts to better understand the utility of edtech ➡️ Nadeem Aljaber - TeachAid: 90% less class-prep for teachers. ➡️ Amaan Ahmad - PathFinder: self-directed & project-based learning for microschools ➡️ Julia Dixon - ESAI: leveling the playing field in college admissions ➡️ Jamie Rood - Marking.AI: assessments & grading tool for teachers We believe that an edtech founders #1 priority should be to find product-market fit at the earliest stages. However, PMF in K-12 is not easy. As a founder, you are dealing with multiple stakeholders at the same time: students, teachers, coordinators, district leaders, etc. each of whom has a different pain point with varying levels of urgency to solve them. To help founders navigate such complexities of the market, we match them with our go-to K-12 PMF Coach: Miriam Altman-Reyes, the founder of Brass Ring Ventures! With 15+ years of experience building in edtech, Miriam has built industry defining companies in K-12. She led Kinvolved, a leader in classroom tech, from idea to exit in 2022. She also served as Vice President, Go-to-Market Strategy and Partnerships at PowerSchool. As the PMF coach for Ariel, Marjorie, Julia, Nadeem and Dean, Miriam helped run a total of 100+ customer experiments over 5 weeks! Her presence as an expert in the space and startup mentor gives our K-12 fellows the opportunity to receive highly contextualized feedback and insights that push the needle on their startups’ traction. We are super glad to continue having Miriam as our K-12 PMF coach for the upcoming TF14 cohort! 🙌 -- PS: It is the last week to apply for the Transcend Fellowship! If you are building in this space and wish to work alongside Miriam for the next 6 weeks, apply now to join the Transcend Fellowship and just let us know in the application! It is always a pleasure to talk about technology and AI, especially with others who are outside of the United States. It is important to compare our unique, often rural, realities, and what challenges and opportunities educating in these spaces can bring. Despite being half a world away (Canada to New Zealand), we are impacted by some of the same edu-AI tools like TeachAid and Diffit for Teachers . Thanks for the conversation, Craig.

Today, I had a insightful discussion with Cammie Kannekens on education and technology. Cammie, a high school teacher turned district-wide instructional coach, highlighted her dedication to advancing technology integration and providing professional development for educators. We delved into the challenges of introducing innovative ideas in smaller schools and the necessity for teachers to grasp AI concepts to effectively educate students about it. Our conversation centered around the importance of customizing educational platforms to align with regional curriculums and school values. Noteworthy platforms like TeachAid and Diffit were cited as examples. We stressed the need for AI platforms to support local languages, emphasizing the significance of localization. Additionally, we discussed the value of networking within the global education community and leveraging connections, with Cammie excitedly sharing her upcoming participation in the Google Innovator Academy!
