No war is won without a strong alliance. Supporting Veterans' health and wellness is no different. That's why we formed the Eagle Alliance. This program bridges gaps in support and access to resources enhancing Veterans' physical and mental health. Here's some of the impact the Eagle Alliance has made so far this year: -199 mental and brain health referrals (Jan-Aug 2024) -75 Veterans received access to free virtual physical therapy Interested in learning more or partnering up? What does a "successful" Big Fitness Goal (BFG) look like? Our Chief of Staff Michael S. shows us it's not always about crossing the finish line. Sully's 2024 BFG was to run the JFK 50 Mile twice! His plan was to run from the finish to the start line and back for a total of 102 miles in 24 hours. On Saturday, he made it 88 miles before getting pulled from the race - and we're freakin' proud of him! At Team RWB, we believe the best BFGs come with a 50% chance of success. Because when you're achieving everything you attempt, you're not dreaming big enough. Sully embodied what setting BFGs are all about - pushing limits, embracing uncertainty, and growing through the challenge. Read his full reflection below ⬇️

Sometimes the most profound lessons come wrapped in what feels like failure. This past weekend, I took on what might have been my most ambitious Team Red, White & Blue Big Fitness Goal yet - The goal: attempting to run the JFK50 in reverse, then turn around and complete the official race in the allotted time. The reality? 88 miles of humility, growth, and unexpected wisdom. The medal might not be hanging on my wall, but the lessons are etched in my mind. Sometimes falling short takes more courage than playing it safe. And while I'm nursing some sore muscles today, I'm already plotting my next big goal. Some great lessons learned for me in the article below. I hope you can find some yourself and be inspired to risk failure for some future growth! #failforward #alwayslearning #veteranhealthandwellness #eaglefire

Brace yourselves for the most predictable social post of the year... 🦃 Yes, it's another "we're thankful for you" message. Cliche? Maybe. True? Absolutely. Instead of posting stock photos of fall leaves and pumpkin pie, we're out here crushing miles, building strength, and supporting each other like the fired-up community we are. 200,000+ strong, Eagle Nation exemplifies what's possible when we move forward together. Your commitment to health, wellness, and supporting Veterans inspire us every day. So yeah, we're dropping this cheesy gratitude post. Deal with it. 😎 Now get off social media. Those Turkey Trots aren't going to run themselves! 🏃♂️🦅

Our Chief of staff, Mike "Sully" Sullivan, is taking on his biggest fitness goal yet. Through the night, he ran the JFK 50 course backward before meeting up with all participants at the starting line, where they’ll now tackle the race. "I'm doing this to prove to myself that Epic things are to come. As a representative of America's Veteran population, I owe it to myself to maintain my health and serve as an example to Veterans and all Americans alike. I'm prepared to fight for their health and wellness as hard as I did as a Green Beret. This is my way of living the Eagle Ethos and showing that prioritizing health and wellness isn't just talk - it's action.” Sully, Eagle Nation is with you every step of the way. If you’d like to support Sully, donate here: https://lnkd.in/e5WtpYGx To our Executive Director Mike, Director of Member Experience Jeremy, Grants Manager Mary, Graphic Designer Katie, and North Carolina State Coordinator Chris, from our staff team, and all the other Eagles out there who are tackling the race this morning, you’ve got this. We’re all rooting for you!

When Lexi Stokes' Army career ended abruptly, she spent two decades searching for a new purpose. That is, until she found Team RWB. “I didn’t even think of myself as a veteran until I joined Team RWB. I struggled with social anxiety and depression, but my friends noticed a change in me within months. Running felt more meaningful, a cause bigger than myself. Team RWB was a natural fit because of my military background.” Finding here next mission gave Lexi a renewed sense of direction, helping her rise above anxiety and step into leadership. Now, she’s dedicated to guiding other veterans toward the same sense of connection and purpose as a volunteer. “Connecting with other veterans is essential. If you isolate, you create your own anxiety, and the pandemic only made it worse. I’ve been in Team RWB leadership since 2015—serving as chapter captain, athletic director, and now in a virtual role. Our virtual ambassador program started in 2019, and when the pandemic hit, it became essential overnight. What started as a small program turned into a lifeline. I went from volunteering an hour a week to daily engagement.” The mission didn’t end when Lexi took off the uniform.
