We make project management software that helps teams work better together.

About us

TeamGantt is a project management software company that specializes in simple and intuitive gantt chart tools for project planning and collaboration. Founded in 2009 by John Correlli and Nathan Gilmore in Baltimore, Maryland, TeamGantt was created with a single purpose in mind: to bring calm and clarity to teams who work together. TeamGantt was originally founded in 2009 by John Correlli and Nathan Gilmore under the name Groundbreaking Designs LLC. At the time, John and Nathan were both developing software for a large roofing contractor in Baltimore, Maryland. They searched high and low for a good way to schedule and collaborate on projects online but couldn't find a solution that did both well. They decided to tackle the challenge of building their own gantt chart software on nights and weekends. After seeing their software’s potential, John and Nathan released an early version for other companies to try. It turns out, they weren’t the only ones who needed a better way to manage projects! The first public release of TeamGantt officially launched in November 2010, and John and Nathan had their first customer within a few hours. TeamGantt quickly took off, attracting big-name customers like Twitter, Expedia, and Turner Broadcasting in just the first year. After the successful launch of TeamGantt, Groundbreaking Designs LLC rebranded to match its flagship product. Now, our company and software platform are both known as TeamGantt.

  • Key Components of a Gantt Chart: A Simple Breakdown 📊 Gantt charts are an essential tool for project management, offering a visual way to plan and track progress. But what makes a Gantt chart so effective? It’s all in the components. Here’s a quick breakdown of the key elements you’ll find in any Gantt chart: Dates 🗓️ Every Gantt chart has a timeline that stretches across a calendar. This timeline helps you track the start and end dates for tasks, ensuring everyone knows what’s happening and when. Tasks ✅ Tasks represent the individual pieces of work that need to be completed to move the project forward. These tasks are listed along the left side of the chart, helping you stay organized and focused. Bars 📏 Bars are the visual representation of how long each task will take. These horizontal bars span the timeline, showing start and finish points for each task, making it easy to see overlaps or dependencies at a glance. Milestones 🎯 Milestones are major points in the project where something important happens, like a key deliverable or project phase completion. These are often marked with symbols or highlighted to stand out. Dependencies 🔗 Some tasks can’t start until another is finished. Gantt charts allow you to connect tasks and show dependencies, helping to keep your project schedule on track. Why It Matters: Understanding these components allows you to leverage the full power of a Gantt chart. With tools like TeamGantt, you can easily create, manage, and adjust your project timelines, keeping your team aligned and your project on target. • 5 Tips to Resolve Project Issues & Avoid Stress 🚧 Project challenges are inevitable, but stress doesn’t have to be. Here’s a deeper look into 5 key strategies to manage issues effectively: 1. Slow down and think it through 🧠 When an issue arises, the instinct to react quickly can lead to mistakes. Take a moment to step back, assess the situation, and analyze all potential impacts before jumping to a solution. Clear, thoughtful decisions will save time in the long run. 2. Don’t take it personally 😌 Project issues happen to everyone—they’re not a reflection of your abilities. Stay focused on resolving the problem instead of internalizing the frustration. Maintaining an objective view will help you stay professional and keep stress at bay. 3. Get everything in writing 📝 Documentation is key to avoiding future misunderstandings and miscommunication. When resolving issues, ensure every step, decision, and agreement is clearly written down. This not only creates accountability but also ensures everyone’s on the same page moving forward. 4. Be comfortable with your own mistakes 🙌 Mistakes are part of any project. Instead of dwelling on what went wrong, own up to the error, learn from it, and move on. This mindset helps prevent future problems and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. 5. Put problems into perspective 🌍 Most project issues, while urgent, aren’t the end of the world. Take a step back to evaluate the bigger picture. Putting the problem into perspective allows you to make decisions calmly and rationally without unnecessary stress. How TeamGantt Can Help 🚀: With TeamGantt, you can easily track progress, document decisions, and organize tasks—giving you the control and clarity needed to address project issues efficiently and without unnecessary stress.
