We continue to showcase Tech Force in UA products, which the Armed Forces of Ukraine effectively use on the battlefield. Today, we highlight the anti-drone rifle developed by Piranha Tech. Piranha Tech is a leading Ukrainian developer and manufacturer of electronic warfare (EW) systems and wide-spectrum jamming devices. The company's entire product line is dedicated to combating enemy UAVs and drones. The SF-3 anti-drone rifle is a compact and mobile device designed to neutralize enemy drones and UAVs at a range of 800 to 1,000 meters using directed radio jamming. Its operation is based on emitting a powerful radio signal that disrupts communication between the drone and its operator. The SF-3 effectively counters enemy drones by causing a loss of connection with the operator or creating significant control difficulties. It blocks video signals, disables GPS systems, and hinders stabilization and telemetry data transmission. The countermeasure results vary depending on the type of drone: FPV drones typically crash, while drones like Mavic may return to their takeoff point. The device's compactness and mobility make it suitable for use on the front lines and in rear operations in various scenarios.

Tech Force in UA and the Unmanned Systems Forces Address Frontline Technological Challenges Together Kateryna Mykhalko, Director-General at Tech Force in UA (TFUA), alongside Tolga Numanoglu, PhD, Director of Systems Engineering at Turkish company Aselsan, Sertac Karaman, Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Víctor M. Sánchez López, representative of the U.S. Army innovation unit AFWERX, participated in a discussion focused on addressing frontline technological challenges. During the presentation at #NATOEdge2024 in the USA, TFUA highlighted several key issues: ◾️ The need for constant adaptability in individual weapon systems and production facilities. The battlefield continually evolves, making specific weapon systems or technical specifications rapidly outdated. Additionally, demands for certain types of equipment can change swiftly. Ukrainian private manufacturers' ability to integrate new technologies quickly to meet frontline needs is a unique strength. ◾️ The specific challenges posed by the war that Russia is waging against Ukraine, where any region can be subjected to missile attacks. Ukrainian arms manufacturers must diversify and decentralize their production facilities as much as possible to minimize the risks of losing manufacturing capabilities and weapon stockpiles, ensuring a continuous supply of military equipment to the army. ◾️ The integration of strike and reconnaissance drones into a unified control system. The Command of Unmanned Systems Forces is working to ensure seamless interaction between various types of UAVs within a single management framework. This approach enables more comprehensive operations, enhancing the speed and precision of combat actions. “I am pleased to see that representatives of NATO member states are genuinely interested in Ukrainian technologies — not only in their application within Ukraine but also in their potential to enhance the Alliance's defense capabilities,” said Kateryna Mykhalko.
