For 25 years, TechLink has helped businesses license software that supports both military and civilians. One example is ATAK, a situational awareness smartphone app with thousands of DOD, Homeland Security, law enforcement, and civilian users. The software offers an up-to-the-second snapshot of operational environments to help keep users safe in their fields. This is all made possible by TechLink’s work with federal labs, which aims to unlock new uses for DOD technologies. With cities across the nation facing the fallout of extreme weather, an Army-invented double-roof protection system could change the way we protect communities from natural forces like tornadoes and hurricanes. Initially designed as a blast barrier for military use, the inexpensive modular barrier can be configured in various ways to protect people and buildings. It may also have security applications, such as fortifying bank vaults. Interested in licensing for commercial development? Nearly 4 in 10 Americans live in places with poor air quality. Pollutants are present both indoors and out, making it vital to detect and address unhealthy levels of ozone and particle pollution. Companies can partner with federal labs to help resolve this problem. DOD and VA inventions aimed at improving air quality are available to license now, including: - An intelligent HVAC system that automatically reacts to airborne pollutants - A more efficient way to measure outdoor aerosol levels - A heat exchanger that improves indoor air quality without changing the temperature - A wearable aerosol detector Get details here: https://hubs.la/Q02Z5GK50 #airquality #pollution #HVACinnovation

Huge congrats to the Veterans Affairs Technology Transfer Program and Dr. Schallhorn for creating an innovative eye dropper assist device to help patients self administer their medication with accuracy and ease 🎉 . The VA Tech Transfer Program worked with TechLink to find a company to license the eye dropper device and bring it to market. Curious what other inventions the VA has available for your company to license? Find out more: https://lnkd.in/gRSw87gr
Julie Schallhorn, MD, MS, an ophthalmologist at the San Francisco VA, noticed a common struggle among her patients, especially those with limited hand strength and dexterity: applying eye drops was challenging. Drawing on her bioengineering background, Schallhorn developed a device to simplify eye drop administration. Her prototype, crafted from a single piece of plastic, features a hammer-shaped handle that releases a precise drop of fluid. A stabilizing bar rests on the patient’s cheekbone, ensuring consistent positioning. Read More: https://ow.ly/105050TWe9x
