If you are in an RHC or an FQHC, you need to know NOW that starting January 1st, you have a tremendous opportunity for the first 6 months of 2025. CMS plans to eliminate G0511 on July 1st of next year, but one change that the December 9th Federal Register includes affects you. That change allows you to bill for the extra minutes in the care management arena - specifically RPM using the G0511 units. Medicare pays for up to 3 units of 99458 for fee for service clinics and 99458 is for each additional 20 minutes in the month. Code G0511 pays about 58% more than code 99458, so the first 6 months, you're looking at taking advantage of that payment difference. G0511 in 2024 $72.98 99458 in 2024 $40.29 (this is the average in the USA) What does this mean to an RHC or FQHC with only 200 patients getting remote physiologic monitoring in NET profit and patients getting only one unit of the extra time (99458 or G0511)?
