Save project Cost & Carbon with Tensar, a division of CMC BBA-certified earth retaining systems which use HDPE geogrid to reinforce layers of soil (including site-won/waste fill) to build steepened slopes and walls. We are delighted Park Developments quantified the CO2 savings using our 70deg TensarTech GreenSlope versus a “traditional” retaining wall on a recent project. 168,000 kg CO2e !!! **Saving 168,000 kg CO2e with our 'Green Retaining Wall' at Unit 735 North West Logistics Park** For this project, we needed to introduce a retaining wall on the north, south and west boundaries. Typically, this would have been constructed using concrete. However, by implementing an environmental design change, we achieved a 96% reduction in embodied carbon. The Tensar Tech Greenslope system, which uses a steel mesh connected to geogrids, creates a naturally vegetated slope. Tensar, a division of CMC This circular initiative not only reduces the volume of concrete used but also supports our efforts to reuse materials on site. At Park Developments we always seek design opportunities like this to improve our environmental impact.
