🐙 Health systems globally are facing numerous challenges, including rising costs, workforce shortages, and increasing consumer expectations for enhanced digital experiences. To address these challenges, health systems are increasingly focusing on digital and AI transformations to improve care quality, reduce costs, and meet consumer demands. Despite recognizing the importance of these initiatives, many health system executives feel that their organizations are not investing enough in digital and AI technologies. 🐙 A recent survey of 200 global health system executives revealed that a majority prioritize digital and AI transformation, but face challenges in planning and resource allocation. Investment priorities do not always align with areas deemed to have the most impact, with some key areas like AI being underinvested. Budget constraints, legacy systems, data quality, tech talent, and readiness to adopt new technology were identified as major obstacles to digital investment. 🐙 Health systems that have invested in digital technologies reported high levels of satisfaction, indicating the potential benefits of these investments.
