We are honored to be included in Eco-Cycle's 8th annual State of Recycling and Composting in Colorado report. Check out the full report below to learn how Colorado communities are leveraging solutions such as ours to recycle and compost end of life material. #recycle #colorado #reuse
Eco-Cycle and CoPIRG’s 8th State of Recycling and Composting in Colorado report reveals promising strides toward a circular economy, including the groundbreaking Producer Responsibility for Recycling Packaging Act (HB22-1355), which will bring free recycling access to all Coloradans starting in 2026, add service to 700,000 households that don’t currently have recycling, and could increase the recycling of packaging to 60% by 2035! Next up: organics diversion. Food scraps and yard trimmings make up nearly 40% of what Colorado landfills! Composting these materials reduces methane, supports local businesses, and enriches soil. Just as Colorado advanced policies and infrastructure to promote recycling, we need to do the same for composting. Our report makes key recommendations for how Colorado can grow its compost systems. Explore how Colorado communities are leading in recycling and composting, preserving resources, and building a sustainable future in the 2024 State of Recycling and Composting report! Some good takeaways from The Cool Down’s Anna Robertson on how brands can lean into circularity. Reach out to our team at TERSUS Solutions to learn more about our services and how we can help your brand take some tangible, circular actions.
👉 We're sharing four key takeaways for brands looking to lean into #circularity (which is quickly becoming a consumer expectation and a business growth opportunity) from The Cool Down's Business Newsletter this week, gleaned from my #ClimateWeekNYC panel at The Nest Climate Campus: (If you're not already subscribed to our business newsletter go here: https://lnkd.in/g7i2Hzzg) ♻️ “What’s in it for me?” is the first question to answer. Research from NYU Stern School of Business highlights that when companies promote products like, say, their resale offerings, sustainability claims on their own (e.g., “less waste,” “good for the planet”) aren’t heavy hitters — but when paired with the personal benefits a sustainable product will offer customers (e.g., “saving money”), it creates a one-two punch for successful messaging. Example: IKEA's "as-is" furniture marketplace saves people $$ and gives them access to unique finds. ♻️ Technology can make resale easy. App and browser extensions like Beni and websites like Patagonia now offer customers a seamless way to see the secondhand options of items they’re shopping for, and digital native brands like Poshmark are leveraging #AI to reduce friction around listing and selling items. ♻️ Gen Z is more loyal to brands with a sustainability plan. While sustainable messaging alone often fails to break through (see the first insight), for Gen Zers, it actually does make an impact on its own. ♻️ Policy may change the game sooner than we think. Massachusetts already has a landfill ban on textiles, and California just passed new legislation putting the responsibility on apparel companies to game-plan how they’re going to collect, repair, and reuse their products. Circularity startups like TERSUS Solutions and Trashie will be key to the transition. Thanks Charlotte Salley on the great write up -- and you can watch the panel featuring with Randi Kronthal-Sacco, Dacie Meng, Javier Quiñones, Shideh Hashemi, Steven Tristan Young and Drexlar Attram here: https://lnkd.in/gzvbenZB #circular #circularsolutions #climate #climatesolutions

The North Face is expanding its presence in New York City with the opening of a new store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The store will feature the brand’s first-ever dedicated Renewed shop-in-shop for remade items, which our TERSUS Solutions team has cut and sewn in collaboration with TNF. The North Face recently enhanced its Renewed trade-in program by allowing customers to return pre-owned items in-store for credits that can be used for purchases both online and in-store. This expansion and integration of the Renewed program alongside their new products highlight The North Face's "commitment to circular fashion, sustainability and an effort to avoid contributing to landfill waste." Congrats to Caroline Brown and the whole The North Face team! Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gyt8NkfN

We are proud to be the operational backbone for Dr. Martens plc Recommerce ReWair business! "ReWair refurbishes pre-owned Dr. Martens footwear and bags, giving them a second life while lessening the likelihood they’ll be tossed in the trash or a donation pile. Skilled technicians carefully inspect, repair, and restore each shoe, making sure they retain Dr. Martens’ iconic look and quality. Shopping through ReWair means sustainable baddies can enjoy the same durable boots while contributing to a more sustainable fashion cycle—each resold pair generates approximately 89% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than buying new." cc Anna Wickes https://lnkd.in/g4t8jX3F

The Chicago Fire Department is taking a significant step forward in PPE care and maintenance by adopting LION's innovative RedZone℠ CO2 cleaning, which is powered by the Tersus Solutions technology. This is an enhancement to their advanced water-based cleaning for all 7,000 turnouts. This new technology will be used twice a year to ensure the cleanest gear possible for all Chicago firefighters. The first department in the U.S. to take this step. The Tersus powered RedZone CO2 has been used as a cleaning method by departments across the U.S. for years, effectively removing harsh contaminants from sources such as lithium-ion batteries, paint, diesel, and more. In the past two years, departments have saved over $750,000 in replacement costs for gear that would typically be condemned due to exposure to harsh contaminants. This cutting-edge method eliminates up to 98% of harmful chemicals, protecting our brave firefighters while also promoting greener operations. As LION continues its long-standing partnership with the CFD, we're proud to support their commitment to the health and safety of CFD members and the environment.
