2024 has been one of the most challenging years the industry has seen to date. Studio closures and downsizing, plus restructuring and redundancies, have sadly been reported throughout the year, and across the global industry.  Like others, we hope that this current climate will now switch to a more settled time for all of our colleagues, partners and friends. And we wish all the very best to those who have been affected during this difficult time. But when it comes to the games themselves, 2024 has showcased the brilliant creativity and passion of our industry, with new hit IP emerging alongside sequels to existing franchises – as well as some great licences. It wouldn’t be an end-of-year review without a list – or even a series of them. A well-deserved congratulations our Business Development Manager Chris Pett who has been named as one of MCV/DEVELOP’s 30 Under 30 rising stars in the games industry. Chris joined Testronic just under a year ago, but has made a significant impact on the business in a short time. He has brought a mix of skills to the organisation, combining an education in games design and games development with solid experience in publisher and new business development – as well as stints in international business roles outside of games. In his role as Business Development Manager here, he has a genuine passion, and talent, for helping our clients find the right solutions to their challenges. He is an energetic and popular member of the Testronic family, and has also impressed the leadership team with his enthusiasm for engaging with the industry at large by attending events, networking and forging new relationships. Chris’ passion for the industry goes beyond his 9-5 job – he is committed to helping other individuals and businesses. Given his previous experience in publishing, he volunteers to help indie studios with contracts and other business matters. He is also a fierce advocate for mentoring, and has been involved for the past seven months with the not-for-profit Limit Break programme. Adam Keating, Senior VP of Sales & Marketing at Testronic, said: “Chris’ already significant experience in the games industry belies his young age.
