About us

The Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation was created in 1982 by a small group of Texas business men and women to focus awareness on the positive achievements made by outstanding business legends and to honor their contributions to their community and their state. Our Mission: The Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation proudly reaffirms its mission of recognizing the accomplishments and contributions of our outstanding Texas business leaders, to perpetuate and inspire the values of entrepreneurial spirit, personal integrity, and community leadership in all generations of Texans. Moving Forward: This mission is achieved by honoring Texas’ foremost past and present business leaders and by inspiring the leadership of the future. Inductees into the hall of fame are chosen for their distinguished accomplishments in business and their contributions to the development of a healthy, dynamic community in Texas and to the state’s overall economic well-being. These leaders are honored during the Annual Induction Dinner. Each year, scholarships are awarded to outstanding Texas students who exhibit the same entrepreneurial drive and leadership spirit. The continued success of the Scholarship Program is made possible through the contributions of many supporters, as well as the Scholarship Endowment Program.

  • The Texas Business Hall of Fame remembers David Bonderman, a visionary leader inducted into our Hall of Fame in 2017. As the co-founder of TPG, in 1992, David transformed the firm from a small, three-person operation into a publicly traded powerhouse managing $239 billion in assets. Under his leadership, TPG invested in groundbreaking companies like Airbnb and Spotify, reshaping industries from healthcare to technology. David’s brilliance extended beyond business. A lawyer by training and former special assistant to the U.S. attorney general under President Lyndon Johnson, he served on the boards of more than 80 companies, including General Motors, Ryanair, and Kite Pharmaceutical. A devoted civic leader and philanthropist, David supported organizations like the Wilderness Society, WWF, and Grand Canyon Trust. His passion for sports led him to hold stakes in the Boston Celtics, and NHL’s Seattle Kraken. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. David Bonderman will be remembered for his transformative impact on business, philanthropy, and our organization. Rest in peace, David.

  • Celebrating the remarkable life of TBHF Legend Rosemary Kowalski. From humble beginnings in a small barbecue joint to building a nationally renowned catering empire, her story exemplifies perseverance, vision, and generosity. Rosemary's legacy will continue to inspire and guide generations of aspiring business leaders.

  • The Texas Business Hall of Fame mourns the loss of Rosemary Kowalski, a 2004 TBHF Legend whose name is synonymous with hospitality, philanthropy, and small business. A San Antonio native, Rosemary's remarkable career in the culinary and hospitality industry spanned an extraordinary eight decades. As the founder of Rosemary’s Catering and The RK Group, her vision and leadership revolutionized catering in Texas. She made history as the official caterer for the 1968 World’s Fair in San Antonio, an achievement that paved the way for an exclusive catering contract with the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center —an enduring legacy of her expertise and passion. Earlier this year, Rosemary celebrated her 100th birthday, a testament to her enduring spirit and impact. She remained an active and beloved figure in San Antonio’s business and philanthropic communities well into her 90s. Her generosity, leadership, and love for her city will forever inspire us. Rosemary’s legacy is deeply intertwined with the Texas Business Hall of Fame, where she was an active member and supporter. Her contributions to our community, both as a trailblazer in her field and as a mentor to countless entrepreneurs, will never be forgotten. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones during this time of loss. Rosemary Kowalski will be dearly missed, but her influence and example will continue to inspire generations of Texans.
