👉 USDA #thaiRAIN is supporting the IoT smart farm market to help farmers more efficiently optimize water and resources based on changes such as soil moisture and water levels. 🌱 We approved a grant to @S.K. Smart Farm & Garden Co. to train certified technicians who can install and maintain the IoT system and farmers. The company will demonstrate the smart farm system and train durian growers in Chantaburi Province, Thailand's eastern region. Durian trees need precise irrigation according to environmental moisture to thrive. 👩🌾 By extending support to local operators, we aim to address challenges faced by smallholder farmers who might struggle with installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining these systems. 📲 The grant underscores #thaiRAIN's mission to help farmers embrace and adopt climate-smart innovations to improve their productivity and farming practices in light of climate impacts. Rainmaker Phonlapat Amornrattanaket recently met with Ministry of Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives officials to discuss increasing Thai farmers’ adoption of drones and other innovations. The officials were Mr. Chaisak Rinkluen, Director of the Plant and Agricultural Materials Control Office; Mr. Thawon Thamkorn, Director of the Agricultural Inspector Group; and Mr. Sirirak Phlai Kaew, Agricultural Officer from the Department of Agriculture.     We will make innovations an integral part of Thai agricultural promotion to adapt to and mitigate climate change.
