Seychelles, Cape Verde, and Botswana least CORRUPT countries in AFRICA. Here’s what to know: The 2024 Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) published on Tuesday has revealed that Sub-Saharan Africa remains the lowest-scoring region globally, with an average score of 33 out of 100, and 90% of its countries scoring below 50. #Seychelles 🇸🇨(72), #CapeVerde 🇨🇻 (62), #Botswana 🇧🇼 (57), and #Rwanda 🇷🇼(57) are the region's top performers, while #SouthSudan 🇸🇸(8), #Somalia 🇸🇴 (9), #EquatorialGuinea 🇬🇶 (13), and #Eritrea 🇪🇷(13) rank among the most corrupt. In Africa, weak governance, political instability, and lack of accountability exacerbate corruption, diverting resources from essential services and deterring foreign investment. The ruling elite in countries such as Somalia and South Sudan where political power is concentrated in a few hands expands corruption as they exploit resources for their own benefit.
