Meet Simone Harms, our new General Manager. Simone joined our team on Monday, October 21st. She has been in the hospitality industry for many years, and we are very excited to welcome her to the team! ✨What intrigued you about The Ameswell that made you want to work here? I feel that the Ameswell is a very special hotel. I believe that not only the location to be very unique with its ease of accessibility in the Bay Area, closeness to a vibrant downtown, and next to the major tech players in Silicon Valley but that its design and concept are one of a kind. I love the homage to the neighboring NASA Ames research center to be very special, singular, and relevant and the fact that it is an independent property allows incredible creativity and guest centricity. ✨What qualities do you think are essential for success? I believe that great communication skills, strategic and forward-thinking, goal setting, positivity, teamwork, mentorship, and humility are critical skills. ✨Who or what experience inspired you to have the career you have today? I owe my entire career to some incredible mentors I was lucky to have in my life. It’s all about people believing in you, training, coaching, and guiding you to bring out the best and also to forgive some mistakes and to make them learning experiences instead. One of the most memorable mantras that I adopted into everything I do is: Be a good human being first.
