PSA: Not every networking event is worth your time. Our #1 rule? Choose events that feel good. Here's a quick framework to help you decide if a networking event is worth your time. 📈 Is there a clear value-add if you attend this event? If you can gain at least one solid thing from this event, then go.  “I can meet a speaker that I really admire” Value-add. “I can build stronger relationships with key players at my company.” Value-add. We have to jump when good opportunities present themselves. 👯 Will there be people I can relate to? If you’re going to an event where you don’t know anyone, try to pick events that focus on common shared experiences. Otherwise, what are we talking about? Try to target niche events in your city on Eventbrite. These events typically are smaller and more intimate. 🤔 Am I  actually interested in this event? If you're not interested - you won't get much out of it. For example, let’s say you’re a Human Resources professional who wants to pivot into Tech. Aht Aht! Don’t RSVP for another HR conference. If it’s not mandatory for your job, don’t force it. Instead, start building your network in the Tech industry by attending AfroTech.

I help women build powerful networks | Founder, The Colors of Her Success | LinkedIn Top Voice

So..how did I build a personal brand that grabbed LinkedIn’s attention? In honor of my first personal branding workshop, I’ll be breaking down how my biggest branding moments came to be—starting with LinkedIn Top Voice. Ok, so boom—it's 2021, and I’m trying to bring more attention to my business, The Colors of Her Success I knew a lot about networking and job searching, so I started sharing tips 2-3 times a week on LinkedIn driving my audience to my business. Tell me why, I barely got any likes. Like, legit… crickets. But what I didn’t know? LinkedIn was watching. At the start of 2022, they reached out and told me I had been selected as a LinkedIn Top Voice for Job Searching & Careers. Personal branding isn’t about going viral. It’s about consistency. Three years later, my personal brand is still one of the things I’m most proud of. Next Monday, I’m breaking down my award-winning personal brand strategy in The Colors of Her Success Personal Branding Blueprint workshop. 📌 Perfect for anyone hoping to build a strong personal brand in 2025! Space is running out! Grab your spot today: https://lnkd.in/edACwpsx

I help women build powerful networks | Founder, The Colors of Her Success | LinkedIn Top Voice

I created my personal brand by accident. I was 2 years into running The Colors of Her Success and couldn’t figure out how to get people to care about it. So, I decided to try an experiment: If I positioned myself as an expert in networking & career growth, would people start paying attention? I started posting consistently on LinkedIn, TikTok, and Instagram—and boy, did things take off. I didn't set out to build a personal brand, but that's what happened. Since then, I’ve: 💸 Created a new stream of income via speaking engagements 🏆 Won the LinkedIn Top Voice Award in 2022 📲 Gained 45K followers and 1M+ impressions on TikTok 📰 Landed a feature in the Wallstreet Journal ✨ Have been offered magical opportunities that I didn’t even know existed. Now, I’m teaching you exactly how I did it in The Personal Brand Blueprint workshop where you'll learn my award-winning personal brand strategy. Secure your spot to learn: ✅ How to create a brand that feels natural to you (introverts I see you!) ✅ Actionable strategies for increasing your visibility online and in person. ✅ How to position yourself for the opportunities you actually want. ✅ My conduct your own brand gap analysis (worksheet included) RSVP HERE: https://lnkd.in/edACwpsx
