About us
The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) was launched in 1974 through a joint agreement between the City of New York and its leading commercial banks to restore and rebuild New York’s aging neighborhoods. CPC itself was an innovation when it was founded, and we carry that founding spirit with us as we operate today. Join us all year long as we celebrate our 50th anniversary (#CPC50th) by highlighting how the CPC has evolved and expanded our reach to become a consistent source of capital to underserved housing markets throughout New York City and in communities across the state. Our deep, strategic relationships with government agencies, community groups, banks, and other investors has positioned CPC as a trusted partner who works hand-in-hand with housing providers to create customized financing solutions. CPC has financed more than 225,000 affordable housing units to date. With roughly $14.4 billion in public and private investments, our work has helped revitalize countless neighborhoods and provided quality housing for low-income families, senior citizens, and individuals with disabilities.

We're thrilled to announce our recent closing of a CPC loan that will fund renovations for a 93-unit property in Harlem alongside a loan from NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development. The scope for this project includes essential roof and façade repairs to preserve the building's integrity. The renovation will also include replacing all common area lighting with LEDs and installing natural gas and heat sensors throughout the property to increase the building’s performance, as well as tenant safety. These critical repairs and upgrades will have a lasting impact on the families who call Riverside Drive home. Congratulations to all!
