🎉 Celebrating the Grand Opening of MacArthur Field A and Topping Off of MacArthur Field B! 🏡 We're still reflecting on the incredible moments from last week’s Grand Opening of MacArthur Field A and Topping Off of MacArthur Field B! This event celebrated the collective efforts of many partners who came together to provide 74 high-quality, supportive housing units for veterans. It’s an honor to contribute to the growing community at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs West Los Angeles Medical Center and to play a role in supporting the well-being of formerly homeless and disabled veterans. MacArthur Field A not only offers housing but also comprehensive on-site services to ensure the continued health and safety of its residents. We are excited to unveil an additional 74 units next year with MacArthur Field B. Yesterday, The Core Companies and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs proudly celebrated the grand opening of brand-new permanent supportive housing for homeless and disabled veterans in West Los Angeles. During the same week as Veterans Day, Core had the honor of joining local, state, and federal officials to mark the Grand Opening of MacArthur Field A and the Topping Off of MacArthur Field B. Together, these milestones represent 148 units of affordable housing for veterans on the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center’s North Campus. Seeing the joy on veterans’ faces as they move into their new homes is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through collaboration and dedication. We extend our deepest gratitude to our funding partners for bringing this vision to life: California Department of Housing & Community Development, U.S. Bank, BMO, California Community Reinvestment Corporation, Home Depot Foundation, Citi, MetLife, Northrop Grumman, California Department of Veterans Affairs/Century Housing, and National Equity Fund, Inc. When we first envisioned Agrihood, our goal was to empower residents to reconnect with their food and honor Santa Clara’s rich agricultural heritage. Now, a decade later, it’s truly inspiring to see this vision blossom. Thanks to our partnership with Farmscape and their principal Lara Hermanson, Agrihood residents can access a bounty of fresh, nutritious produce right at their doorstep. Together, we’ve created a sustainable, one-of-a-kind community space that current and future residents will cherish for years to come. This Veterans Day, we honor the strength, courage, and unwavering dedication of veterans across the country and in our local community. For 35 years, The Core Companies has proudly built more than just housing — we’ve built communities, including for the heroes who have valiantly served our nation. Today, our team had the incredible privilege of participating in the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) Veterans Day Parade in San Jose, the largest of its kind in Northern California. It was truly a moment of pride and deep gratitude as we commemorated those who have served and continue to serve. A special salute to our very own Keith Craw, a proud Marines veteran, whose service and dedication inspire us every day. We are grateful to have him as part of our CORE family. We also enjoyed seeing all the elected officials who, with their efforts and the help of the community, kept this parade alive for its 106th year, and we are proud to be part of it! To all veterans: Your resilience and selflessness inspire us every day. As we look to the future, Core remains committed to showing our gratitude by developing more high-quality, affordable housing for veterans throughout the state — a promise we've kept for over three decades. Calling all SPUR members! The Core Companies invites you to learn more about Agrihood, the largest urban farm and affordable housing community in California. Agrihood is a unique public-private partnership with City of Santa Clara featuring 165 affordable units for seniors and more than an 1.5 acres of open space. Join us at Agrihood Farm on November 14 for a tour and to learn more about the history of the project, which address the region's urgent housing crisis through a creative, community-focused approach. The Core Companies had the pleasure of attending Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California (NPH)'s annual Affordable Housing Conference earlier this month. Core's RICHARD TRUEMPLER joined CORE Builders's Keith Craw, Payal Prasad, and Scott Downes to gain valuable insight from industry peers and share our expertise developing and building affordable housing in the Bay Area.    Thank you to NPH for a great event and the chance to connect with those also passionate about creating critically needed homes. We're looking forward to next year!

It's great to see seniors able to purchase new homes in the Bay Area, especially in such a diverse and forward-thinking community like Agrihood. At Agrihood, residents of all backgrounds and incomes have the opportunity to live among nature and greenery without sacrificing access to urban resources! In addition to The Core Companies' affordable senior community that opened last year, Agrihood features market-rate townhomes by PulteGroup, where long-time Bay Area resident and retired teacher Susan Cunningham found her new home. “I needed some place with trees around me,” she said. https://lnkd.in/g6R8WEiA

Highlights from the Welcome Basket Assembly at MacArthur Field A!! Volunteers from the Brentwood School Brentwood School, the US DEPT. OF VETERANS AFFAIRS, New Directions for Veterans, and our amazing design team came together to collect and organize generous donations into large travel bags for each of the new resident units. It is truly amazing to see the incredible number of volunteers, the overwhelming amount of donations, and the shared commitment to support our Veterans as they begin a new chapter in the homes we’ve had the privilege of helping create. In Aaron Barger’s own words: "This is my first affordable housing project, and witnessing this level of community involvement was deeply emotional for me. **Big News – Phase A of MacArthur Field Receives COO!** Huge congratulations to everyone for their hard work, dedication, and teamwork in securing the Certificate of Occupancy for Phase A! Your collaboration in coordinating construction, furnishings, and inspections was key to making this happen. A special thank you to Build Group, Inc, AMA Group, CAL VETS, California Community Reinvestment Corporation, California Housing Finance Agency, Century Housing, CORT, County of Los Angeles, DSA Electrical, EAH Housing, GLA, The Guzzardo Partnership, Inc, Labib Funk + Associates, National Equity Fund, Inc., New Directions for Veterans, Parisi Portfolio, Peoples Associates Structural Engineers, S.L. Leonard & Associates, Inc., Southern California Edison (SCE), U.S. Bank, US DEPT.
