The next guest on The Courage to Lead Interview Series is Amelia Adams, Channel 9 Australia from 60 Minutes Australia. What an interview this one is. It is very rare that you meet a leader who at 8 years of age tells her parents what she is going to do with her life. 8 year old Amelia said, "Mum and Dad I'm going to be a 60 Minutes reporter." The rest is history. This interview tells that history and it will captivate you. An insight into America under Donald Trump as the 45th American President, and the Covid years, and what America was like when Donald Trump became the 47th American President. What I loved about this interview was the focus on kindness, support and just be a good person. A special mention to Peter Overton who has been a constant source of mentorship and support for Amelia Adams. Welcome to the 1st interview on The Courage to Lead Interview Series for 2025, with Mark Coyne, former CEO of EML Group and well known sportsman. EML were listed in the top 10 companies of Australia as a Great Place To Work® Australia in 2024 so Mark Coyne was a must to interview on our show. One of the best things in the interview was how Mark describes making connections with his people. When Mark goes to a place he has not been to before he seeks out employees and asks them to tell him about their most difficult case or client. His next question is "How can I help you with that?" Imagine if all bosses connected with their employees this way. Spotify: https://lnkd.in/gyZ6kEzy Apple: https://lnkd.in/g6ys83QQ Blog post: https://lnkd.in/gyVXXJAQ Rebecca Moulynox

🎯 Talent Development: Beyond Skills 🎯 We need more Leaders like Reika Phung Dzupinka. Thank you to John Foong, Reika's boss, for recommending her as a guest on The Courage to Lead Interview Series. One key takeaway from my chat with Reika was her approach to talent acquisition. At LinkedIn, her team crafted a rigorous analytical test for candidates, emphasising not just technical skills but also cultural fit. Reika seeks individuals with a growth mindset and collaborative spirit. Her leadership is about nurturing potential and fostering an environment where everyone can thrive. It's a reminder that successful teams are built on more than just hard skills. 🙌🧠 hashtag #TalentDevelopment hashtag #GrowthMindset Listen to the podcast on the following links: Spotify: https://lnkd.in/gP5cVNcs Apple: https://lnkd.in/gc4QQAtu Blog: https://lnkd.in/gdEg47_s

If you want a great example of Compassion, Courage and Creativity in Leadership, I recommend you listen next episode of The Courage to Lead Interview Series, with our next guest, the newly elected 2nd Term Mayor of Willoughby City Council, Tanya Taylor. A close friend and colleague, Trina Jones, recommended I connect with Tanya in 2023, and I must say it is inspiring to hear what this wonderful leader has to offer, and does deliver to her diverse city of Willoughby. There are some simple messages in this interview. Do what you love. Tanya's skills are being organised, bringing people together, and advocating for what you believe in. A strong message that comes through the whole interview is that we need to continually learn and we cannot do it on our own. Can you believe Tanya did a University Degree in Community Development in her 1st term as Mayor? Listen in via any of the links below. Check out our Breda McCague podcast. An absolute powerhouse and reminds us all of the privilege to lead.

I would highly recommend this next episode of The Courage to Lead Interview Series with our next guest Breda McCague. A close friend and colleague, Roxy Z., put Breda and I together as a must leader to interview on the show. The biggest question Breda poses to listeners is the privilege of leadership. When we are entrusted with people's lives in our hands, their feelings, their hopes and dreams, their career futures it is our absolute imperative that we must honour that privilege and lead in the best way we can. To do anything else is a total breach of that privilege and trust. Listen in via any of the links below. Check out the story behind the man and his team behind Sydney becoming the seventh major marathon in the world.

If you want to know the story behind the leader and his company Pont 3, who are responsible for Sydney becoming one of the 7 Major Marathons in the world, here is one of the first episodes of The Courage to Lead Interview Series with Wayne Larden. Wayne Larden is one of the most amazing leaders I have ever worked with. He leads a team who for several years now facilitate and action the Sydney Marathon every year, bringing so many organisations together to allow runners to cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge as part of the start of the race and then finish the race at the entrance to the Sydney Opera House. No mean feat when you consider the workings of government. Have a listen to where Wayne came from and how he followed his passion of running marathons till Sydney became a major. Congratulations Wayne Larden and your Pont3 Pty Ltd team a truly proud day for you, Sydney and Australia. NB: please note this was one of my first podcasts for the Courage to Lead and my skills around audio were not that good for the first few episodes. An ever learning experience producing a podcast. https://lnkd.in/g_RGtaVi

Whilst I am in Melbourne renovating I had a chance to sit down with Rochelle Jackson from The Crime Couch podcast. She is a very skilled interviewer. I hope you enjoy our chat essentially focusing on the concept does making a mistake and learning from it make you a better leader? What do you think? Rochelle named this podcast episode after Chapter 7 of my book “The Courage to Lead - Resilience and Compassion in Police Command.” https://lnkd.in/gRni3epM https://lnkd.in/g-XFcVV9
