I've always believed that to understand where we are, we need to reflect on how we got here. So, I'd like to share a brief story about the origins of The Digital Asset Conference.
Back in 2017, as a student, I attended a conference featuring many industry luminaries—famous hedge fund managers, private equity investors, and venture capitalists. The speakers didn't just talk about the future—they were shaping it. I was deeply impressed and inspired. Being there, hearing these leaders discuss their grand visions and their unwavering commitment to bringing it to life, changed my life. I walked away determined to form my own vision, have skin in the game, and roll the dice to see if I was capable of making it happen.
Just a few months later, I announced that I'd be organizing my own conference. Having never organized a gathering of more than three people, taking on this challenge was quite an undertaking. After 1,000 emails and countless attempts, I connected with a senior executive from Bank of America Merrill Lynch and we partnered up and organized the first edition of the event. At that conference I met one of my partners who joined me in setting up Fasanara Digital soon after. So my life got changed again. In the years that followed, we hosted the event four times in London, once in New York, and once virtually. Although the locations have changed, our commitment to our goals and adherence to our principles will always be the same. The Digital Asset Conference is a hub of opportunities. Just as that initial event changed my life, we aim to create opportunities for our delegates and maximize our impact.
Organizing this event has been a tremendous joy. I love to think that with this event we can change someone life and be a force for good. I'm humbled by the positive feedback we've received over the years. I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to the incredible team who worked tirelessly to bring this event to life.
One of the key themes of the conference has been how the digital asset industry is maturing and becoming more institutional. We discussed the trends of today that will redefine tomorrow. As someone once said, "There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen." I think that is very true. Change often takes time, but when it accelerates, it can reshape everything around us almost overnight. I truly believe we are at an inflection point where we're finally ready to go mainstream and realize the full potential of what this industry aspires to become.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Onwards and upwards.
