Serving this generation of engineers and fostering the next, The Engineering Society of Detroit promotes and celebrates excellence, innovation, cooperation, professional growth and fellowship in the engineering, scientific and technical professions. ESD provides support and programming for professionals and their affiliated technical societies. In turn, ESD corporate and professional members invest in the growth of our region by supporting our STEM outreach programs. Exemplifying to students the importance of math and science education, ESD members continue to lead the youth of Michigan towards successful and fulfilling careers in engineering, architecture, construction and design, information technologies, and the skilled trades.     Congratulations to Janice Means, PE, FESD, FASHRAE, professor emerita, Lawrence Technological University, for being selected as a 2024 Michigan Women's Hall of Fame inductee. Janice is a trailblazer in the field of engineering. She continues to share her expertise by contributing towards the development of ASHRAE's codes and standards especially those focused on energy efficiency. She is a local, national and international speaker on Climate Change and Sustainability within the built environment. Janice is a true treasure and most serving of this award. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024 | 6-8 p.m. at the Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center, Detroit.
