Do you struggle with finding skilled foundry labor? ExOne’s sand 3D printers help fill the labor gap caused by hard-to-find foundry workers. Sand 3D printing allows you to reduce the need for skilled assembly labor to glue cores together. Instead, you can 3D print cores as one piece. To quote one of our customers: “This is the way cores were meant to be made.” Learn more about foundries who have invested in digital casting innovations to help solve their labor challenges.https://hubs.li/Q02ZJh7Y0

Today, Eric Bader, the Managing Director of ExOne GmbH in Germany, had the exciting opportunity to present the numerous advantages of 3D printing molds and cores using ExOne's binder jetting technology. This presentation took place in front of a distinguished audience of foundry experts at the 37th Foundry Technical Congress of Assofond, the Italian Foundry Association. Located in Rezzato, Italy, Eric was joined by Daniele Chiesa from Fonder Shell, an iron foundry that proudly uses the ExOne S-Max Pro. A big thank you to Assofond for this incredible opportunity!

Why sand 3D printing? This exhaust pipe was previously produced for a Scandinavian automotive manufacturer with conventional core production methods that resulted in a complicated and laborious core assembly process. With 3D printing technology, IWAMET was able to print a monolithic core, resulting in a much stronger core and a 42% reduction in labor.
