From a foundation of both positive and challenging life lessons, Chris Miano has grown a successful business based on perseverance, teamwork, and great customer service. X-Series USA, which Miano co-founded almost three years ago in Chino, Calif., is an original design manufacturer that works with customers to create custom fabrication equipment. “The manufacturers that we were dealing with did not see what we saw as far as creating the best service experience, support experience, training experience that you could possibly have,” he told TPJ Editor Lincoln Brunner. “They just wanted to sell. And that’s where we said, ‘No one is going to see it through our eyes. We have to do it ourselves and do it nationwide—or continentwide. So, that’s what started X-Series.” 👉 Read the article: https://lnkd.in/g6XamQYb 🎙️ Look back our podcast episode with Miano and Chaz Schroeder of Black River Group, Inc.: https://lnkd.in/gq5AbgaK #metalfabrication #sheetmetal #businessowner #lasercutting #metalmanufacturing #thefabricatorpodcast

For years, Advance Products & Systems, LLC (APS), a manufacturer of corrosion prevention and protection products that help maintain flow in the water and wastewater, oil and gas, and chemical pipeline industries, dealt with a flow issue of its own: A bottleneck in the plate rolling area. A new four-roll plate rolling EVO machine from HAEUSLER AG solved that problem, writes Editor-in-Chief Dan Davis. “We were actually not aware that this type of precision is unheard of in plate forming,” said Kidd Culotta, APS’ operations manager. “We hold ourselves to such a tight tolerance because most of our products need to have that to work in the pipelines.” ⚙ https://lnkd.in/gGKZvxpA #platerolling #metalforming #metalworking #automation European Technology Center Kelby Richard

Metal manufacturing is a fragmented business. Software and technology might drive some consolidation—but only to a point. In his latest blog, Caleb Chamberlain writes that two primary factors must exist for an industry to consolidate and remain consolidated: 1️⃣ Industry homogeneity 2️⃣ Market power derived from consolidation "Manufacturing isn’t about to be completely transformed by industry outsiders who can write software. Sure, some consolidation will happen, but there will still be hundreds, if not thousands, of sandboxes carved out horizontally and vertically in the supply chain." 👉 https://lnkd.in/gyy2XNwC #metalfabrication #manufacturing #consolidation OSH Cut
