Our mission is to be the hands and feet of Christ fighting for the cause of vulnerable children.

About us

Our Mission Our Christ-centered purpose is to provide family-style, residential care and sustainable solutions that fight against Haiti’s orphan crisis. Our Vision First, under the guidance of Haiti’s Child Social Services, we provide holistic, residential care for children in crisis by building and operating Children’s Villages with multiple family-style homes lead by Haitian Caregivers. By utilizing our resources, relationships, and our American and Haitian staff, we strive to create a circle of care around each child with the intent of giving every boy and girl the chance to reach their God-given potential. Second, we will utilize our platform to help create sustainable and dignified jobs to push against the poverty-driven child abandonment and child slavery cycles. We believe the best orphan care strategy starts with a fight to keep families together. Our Core Values From our Children’s Villages in Haiti to our offices in the United States, we hold fast to Christ’s teachings and commandments. We strive to teach and exemplify Love, Honesty, Obedience, and Responsibility in the name of Christ.

  • Our Independent Living Program Administrator & Mentor, Maxime, recently led a group of older kids from our campus in a community cleanup at some of our properties and local beaches. This project was much more than just cleaning—it was an opportunity to build unity, teamwork, and resilience through a powerful Haitian tradition known as Konbit. While Konbit doesn't have an easy English translation, at its heart, it represents unity, collaboration, and community resilience—values that were on full display as our young adults worked together toward a common goal. Maxime shared that: "The Konbit initiative fosters a sense of community as young people work together toward a common goal. This collective action encourages collaboration, leadership, and teamwork, helping to strengthen bonds among participants and within the community." The impact of this day was profound. From picking up trash to raking and sweeping, every task was a step toward a cleaner, stronger community—and a more empowered generation of young adults. We couldn’t be prouder of the effort and leadership shown by these inspiring individuals. 📢 This is just one example of how we’re working to nurture the next generation of leaders in Haiti. Want to get involved? Whether it’s through prayer, donations, or spreading awareness, there are many ways you can support programs like this one. These goals reflect our continued commitment to serving vulnerable children and families across Haiti, creating opportunities for stability, hope, and belonging. 📋 Expand Foster-Based Care in Cap-Haïtien Our goal is to serve 30 new families through foster-based care, specifically in Cap-Haïtien, a new region for H&FP in the northern part of Haiti. This is an exciting new frontier for us, and we are eager to see where the Lord opens doors in this community in 2025. 📋 Continue Expansion in Jacmel We are working to expand foster-based care in Jacmel as we await final approval from IBESR (Haiti's Institute of Social Welfare and Research). • 🚨 We still believe that job creation is the answer. It’s true—we are temporarily pausing our leather operations as the current circumstances in Haiti have made it increasingly difficult to sustain production. However, despite these obstacles, our commitment to job creation remains steadfast. Why? Because we have witnessed firsthand the profound transformation that dignified work can bring to Haitian families. Jobs do more than provide income—they help parents keep their families together, offer young adults a path out of poverty, and inspire hope for a more stable future. The power of job creation has always been at the heart of our mission, and this belief will not waver. While this chapter of Haiti Made is temporarily on hold, we are not giving up. We are actively exploring new opportunities and innovative solutions to continue supporting job creation in Haiti. 📩 Stay Connected! • As we look to the future, we are excited to share our key objectives for the Preserving Families Project in 2025. These goals represent a significant step forward in our mission to strengthen families and communities in Haiti. 📋 Expand the Stronger Together Network: Our goal is to welcome 40 new families into our Stronger Together care network while also establishing a critical food distribution and logistics program in Cap-Haïtien. Each new family added means 40 more families that can remain united and supported. We give thanks to God for this milestone and the opportunity to serve these families. 📋 Address Food Insecurity in Grand Goâve: We aim to implement sustainable food solutions and hire four new family advocates to support 160 families in Grand Goâve. With a focus on creative and lasting solutions, we are determined to combat food insecurity and ensure these families are adequately provided for. 📋 Conduct a Comprehensive Program and Staff Audit in Jacmel: By the end of Q1 2025, we will complete a comprehensive audit of our programs and staff in Jacmel. This realignment will ensure that we are optimizing our efforts and adapting our approach to achieve the greatest possible impact. • Our team in Haiti has been dedicating the 5th Friday of each month to community outreach, a powerful initiative to give back to the communities we serve. This effort is not just about providing resources, but about building relationships, offering support, and sharing love where it's needed most. In December, our team reached out to 30 vulnerable children in the community, delivering sandwiches and essential hygiene supplies. More than just providing food, they spent quality time with these children, encouraging them to be generous and kind to others in their communities. The impact was tangible, as these moments of connection fostered hope and a sense of belonging. In Grand Goâve, our staff also visited the Petit-Goâve prison, where they prepared meals for 700 inmates—a small but significant gesture of compassion for those in need of basic sustenance and care. (Pictured below) These outreach efforts are more than just acts of service; they are opportunities for us to be the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing light and hope into the lives of those who need it most. We are humbled by the chance to serve, and we are eager for more opportunities to share resources, love, and encouragement with the people of Haiti. Together, we can make a lasting difference. • For the past 10 years, Haiti Made has been dedicated to crafting beautifully made leather goods, providing sustainable jobs and economic opportunity for talented artisans in Haiti. Today, we want to share an important update on our journey. ⏸️ Haiti Made leather operations are taking a pause. ⏸️ This decision comes after much prayer and reflection in light of the immense challenges facing Haiti at this time. Escalating gang violence, road blockages, and fuel shortages have made it increasingly difficult for us to continue operations and deliver the products that our artisans have worked so hard to create. Additionally, our trusted leather supplier has been forced to pause operations, further impacting our ability to source the necessary materials. Despite these setbacks, our belief in the power of job creation remains unwavering. Jobs are transformative—they keep families together, lift people out of poverty, and bring hope. We remain committed to finding new ways to create opportunities in Haiti, and we are actively planning for future initiatives to do just that. 💥 What’s next? 💥 You can still shop our remaining products! A select inventory is available at haitimade.com, and after Feb 28, 2025, the website will remain active. You can also find our Haiti Made site at handsandfeetproject.org. Every purchase continues to support our ongoing mission and the families we serve. Thank you to everyone who has supported Haiti Made—whether through purchasing our goods, spreading the word, or offering prayers. This is not goodbye; it’s simply the beginning of a new chapter. We are deeply grateful for your partnership, and we look forward to what’s ahead. Here’s to the next chapter.

  • ✨ Week 3 - 31 Days of Prayer ✨ This week, we are focusing our prayers on the well-being and future of Children, lifting up their spiritual, physical, emotional, social, and educational needs. We will pray for access to education and skill development for the 4 million children in Haiti who need support (UNICEF). We will also ask for God’s guidance in improving childcare environments and providing safe and loving spaces for children to grow. Our hearts go out to the thousands of children living as Restaveks, a term used for children in modern-day slavery, with over 300,000 of them enduring forced servitude. As Haiti ranks among the top 10 countries on the global slavery index, we pray for an end to this injustice, for the freedom of these children, and for opportunities that will allow them to flourish. H&FP'S CHILD PRAYER: "Heavenly Father, we lift up the vulnerable children of Haiti, asking for Your protection, provision, and love to surround them. Lord, we pray for every child to feel cherished and valued, shielded from harm, and nurtured in environments that allow them to grow and thrive. For those trapped in restavek situations or facing cycles of poverty and injustice, we ask for freedom, restoration, and a future filled with hope. Bring healing to children suffering from broken families or trauma, and reunite them with loved ones in Your perfect timing. Strengthen caregivers across Haiti, equipping them with wisdom, compassion, and patience to pour into these precious lives. Lord, open doors for education, opportunity, and joy so that every child may dream and pursue the future You have planned for them. In Jesus’ name, Amen." Thank you for standing with us in prayer. ❤️ H&FP (Tap the link to receive weekly prayer prompts as we spend 31 Days in prayer over Haiti)

  • ✨ Week 2 - 31 Days of Prayer ✨ This week, we are focusing our prayers on the essential role of Family, lifting up both the physical and spiritual needs that families face. Our prayers are centered on the vital role of family, particularly in meeting the basic needs of children and parents. We lift up those struggling with hunger and lack of resources, especially the 778,600 children in Haiti in need of nutrition services (UNICEF). At the same time, we pray for families to cultivate generosity and hospitality, share their resources, and build a supportive environment. Above all, we ask God to empower parents to model faith, perseverance, and strength, creating a legacy that instills hope and resilience in the next generation. H&FP'S FAMILY PRAYER: "Heavenly Father, we lift up the families we serve, asking for Your healing, restoration, and hope to fill their hearts. We pray that parents model faith and perseverance, especially those who have experienced loss or hardship, and that You grant them the wisdom, patience, and courage needed to guide their children. May families be strengthened by Your provision and filled with generosity and hospitality, sharing resources and love freely. We ask for Your support and encouragement for single parents, providing them with the emotional, financial, and spiritual strength they need to thrive. Lord, bring unity, protection, and moments of joy to each family, and help them celebrate the bonds that You have created. Above all, may faith remain at the center of their lives, as they trust You to be their guide and provider. In Jesus' name, Amen." We declare Jesus' name over family this week! ❤️ H&FP (Tap the link to receive weekly prayer prompts as we spend 31 Days in prayer over Haiti)
