JAXPORT Director of Business Development Alberto Cabrera, CTL recently attended the Automotive Logistics & Supply Chain Mexico conference. The annual event provides industry professionals with a look at automotive parts logistics, vehicle distribution networks, and trade links. Cabrera joined port partners from car carrier Höegh Autoliners and auto processor AMPORTS Inc. to hear about the latest automotive industry trends. Mexico is a production hub for vehicles and auto components, with nearly a dozen of JAXPORT’s auto ocean carrier services calling Mexico. JAXPORT is one of the nation’s top vehicle-handling ports, moving more than 509,000 vehicles over the past year. CC: Agenor Olivardia | Gary Salvador #jaXportpartners #Xmarksthespot

“Grazie!” to everyone who made our delegation trip to Italy a success. 🤝 Last week, JAXPORT joined Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and port partner Dario Braccia from POLMIX Americas Inc. at the Italy/Florida Business Seminar. Italian-based Polmix operates an American headquarters in Jacksonville and produces materials used in the manufacturing process to make commercial products such as electronics and parts for the auto and energy industries. Our team also participated in two roundtable discussions led by Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Jared W. Perdue, P.E. 🔹 In Milan, the first roundtable included Florida ports and ASSOLOGISTICA, an Italian association of logistics companies, retailers, and terminal operators. The group discussed workforce trends and business opportunities for Jacksonville, including on-dock warehousing, import distribution centers, and the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a clean marine fuel. 🔹 In Turin, representatives from JAXPORT and FDOT joined the Port of Genoa and maritime and logistics companies in the region to discuss JAXPORT’s cargo capabilities and potential business links between Italy and Jacksonville. Strengthening connections in Europe creates additional business opportunities for our state, protecting and diversifying Florida's supply chain. #openforbusiness Photo Credit: Dario Braccia CC: Robert Peek, MPA, CTL, Nick P., Sheila Cox, Daniel Bean

JAXPORT hosted young professionals from the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville to learn more about the port’s role in our community and beyond. The group Council EDGE provides an opportunity for members ages 21 to 40 to develop a greater understanding of the world while connecting with others who share an interest in international affairs. JAXPORT Chief of Staff Beth McCague joined representatives from Crowley in a fireside chat about how cargo operations at JAXPORT’s Talleyrand Marine Terminal support Jacksonville’s economy. Through the program, Council EDGE members meet with community leaders to discuss industry trends and professional development. CC: Patrick Tamasitis | Dr. Jim Bender, EdD. #jaXportpartners

Our JAXPORT team was honored to join Gov. Ron DeSantis for a productive meeting today with ocean carrier MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company in Italy. MSC is the world’s largest ocean carrier and JAXPORT’s largest container customer by the number of ocean carrier services offered through our port. MSC’s commitment to Florida’s No. 1 container port by volume helps ensure the state’s supply chain is reliable, resilient, and ready. Thank you, Governor DeSantis, for bringing us together to make this opportunity possible. Florida Department of Transportation | SelectFlorida | Jared W. Perdue, P.E.

Strengthening relationships with our European-based partners 🌎 JAXPORT’s commercial team visited surface manufacturer COSENTINO’s headquarters in Spain. They met with the company’s President & CEO Francisco Martinez-Cosentino Justo. The company currently imports finished countertops and flooring through JAXPORT. In early 2025, Cosentino expects to break ground on a new $270 million production facility near port terminals. Once complete, Cosentino will use JAXPORT to import raw materials and export finished products. The facility will create 180 local jobs and is the company’s first North American manufacturing site outside of Spain. Thank you, Cosentino, for your commitment to Jacksonville. Thank you, Florida Congressman Daniel Webster and Arkansas Congressman Rick Crawford, for visiting JAXPORT. Both representatives serve on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, which has authority over all modes of transportation, including maritime and waterborne transportation, as well as national infrastructure. Congressman Webster is also chairman of the Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation. The congressmen toured one of Crowley’s LNG-powered ships and also saw vehicle-processing operations at Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (JM Family Enterprises, Inc.). As Florida's largest container port and the No. 1 port for trade with Puerto Rico, we are grateful for the support of our elected officials and the work they do to enhance our position as a critical link in the global supply chain.

Supporting local veterans who have served our nation 🇺🇸 In case you missed it, K9 “Jackson,” donated by Carnival Cruise Line, is the newest service dog in training to join the K9s for Warriors mission to end Veteran suicide. A non-profit based in Northeast Florida, K9s For Warriors rescues and trains dogs to become Service Dogs at no cost to veterans struggling with PTSD and other trauma. At Carnival’s 20th-anniversary celebration on board Carnival Elation, Jackson received a special collar while officially joining the organization.
