Exciting news for our Missouri City community of Sienna—a new 40-acre wildlife habitat is coming soon. Located next to Summerhouse Lake, this expansive area will transform into a sanctuary for resident and migratory birds, as well as a variety of aquatic wildlife. Among the species to call this habitat home are the alligator snapping turtle, a species considered threatened by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and freshwater mussels, one of the most endangered groups of organisms in the country. Native vegetation, including Southern Blueflag Iris, Pickerel Weed, Soft Rush, Soft Stem Bulrush, Water Purslane, and others, will be planted seasonally to create a thriving ecosystem. Plants that support monarch butterfly migration will also enhance the natural landscape, providing both food and shelter. Additionally, these plants will filter Long Point Creek as it flows through, helping to purify the water on its journey to Oyster Creek and the Brazos River. This new wildlife habitat will be a place where nature flourishes, offering our community even more opportunities to connect with the environment.

Sales have officially begun in one of our newest communities, Grange, located in Katy, Texas. Highland Homes is leading the way as the first of seven builders to begin presales. Last week's inaugural CURE-Ageous 5K Fun Run at Cross Creek West in Fulshear, Texas was a great success, bringing together over 400 participants and raising $15,000 for The IBC Network Foundation. Our team is grateful to the many supporters and to the Foundation itself, which is dedicated to educating the public and funding research for Inflammatory Breast Cancer—an aggressive cancer that cannot be detected by lumps. Events like this play an important role in raising awareness and supporting critical research. A big thank you to everyone who made it possible.

Last week, Johnson Development team members gathered at Kresston with builder partners, local Realtors, City of Magnolia officials, and Magnolia ISD staff to break ground on the community’s Legends Pointe amenity complex and the surrounding model homes. Located along approximately 10 acres in Kresston’s Heartland District, Legends Pointe will feature four pickleball courts, a 2,000-square-foot splash pad, open event lawn, playground and the Boot House, a 3,000-square-foot welcome center. The Boot House will be home to many future resident events and is expected to open in April 2025, with the remaining Legends Pointe amenities expected to be completed early second quarter of 2025. The Johnson Development communities of Sienna, Cross Creek Ranch and Jordan Ranch ranked among the nation’s 50 top-selling master-planned communities on the annual RCLCO Real Estate Consulting mid-year report. Sienna was ranked at number 26, with 310 new-home sales during the first six months of 2024, on-target to surpass the 600 that were sold in 2023. With 222 sales, Cross Creek Ranch is ranked 46th. Jordan Ranch is tied for 49th, with 211 sales from January through June. Year after year, people are drawn to Sienna — the largest community in Fort Bend County — because of the great variety of homes, numerous onsite schools and other conveniences and lavish amenities that include water parks, fitness centers, tennis and pickleball courts, playgrounds, trails and more. Newly opened in the community are the Sawmill Event Pavilion and Sawmill Beach Club, both perched along the shores of Sawmill Lake. Builders have opened more than 30 model homes in the community, where homes are priced from the $300,000s to more than $1 million. Cross Creek Ranch in Fulshear continues to be a top-selling community even as it nears close-out. Homes have been selling briskly there as buyers don’t want to miss a chance for a new home in this perennially favorite community. Onsite schools, numerous lakes and waterways, pools, sports courts, playgrounds and more add to the appeal.
