Celebrating 80 years of developing the potential of women and building better communities.
About us
The Junior League of the Palm Beaches is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. Proudly serving Palm Beach County since 1941, the Junior League of the Palm Beaches develops community partnerships focused on serving children and young adults in the foster care system. Major projects over time have included the establishment and building of Quantum House and the 10,000 sq. foot Fun Zone play area in Gaines Park, the founding of the South Florida Science Center & Aquarium in 1961, and the establishment and facilitation of Eye & Ear Alert since 1968 and Cotillion since 1957. 🇺🇸 On Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we honor the lives lost and the heroes who responded during the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Junior League recognizes the courage and sacrifice that shaped our nation’s history. Today, we honor Cornelia Clark Fort, a trailblazer and Member of the Junior League of Nashville, TN. In 1941, she was the first U.S. pilot to encounter the Japanese air fleet during the Attack on Pearl Harbor. Cornelia was a pioneer in aviation, becoming the first female flight instructor in Nashville and later joining the Women’s Auxiliary Ferrying Squadron (WAFS). On March 21, 1943, Cornelia was the first American woman to die on active military duty in WWII. Her legacy, marked by courage and commitment to a larger purpose, continues to inspire us. #JuniorLeague #PearlHarborRemembranceDay #HonorAndRemember #LeagueMembers
