The Langdon Group provides public involvement, facilitation, mediation, conflict management and strategic visioning for clients throughout the west. We’re proud to collaborate on the Lead Service Line Project in Jerome! Partnering with the City of Jerome, TLG, and GMI, we’re ensuring safe, lead-free drinking water for residents. This initiative replaces lead service lines, updates water records, and introduces a grant program for households to replace private lead lines. Shoutout to Rebecca Coulter, TLG, for her amazing outreach at the Farmer’s Market and to KMVT for featuring this vital project! Kudos to the Water Resources Group at J-U-B’s Twin Falls office and GMI for their hard work on the GIS map and survey. Together, we’re paving the way for a healthier future! Big things happening in Sun Valley, Idaho! This October, Jeni Goff, Project Associate at the Langdon Group, took the lead on a long-standing contract that began in 2010, facilitating the Idaho Cleanup Project Citizens Advisory Board (ICP CAB). The ICP CAB is a federally appointed citizens’ panel that offers independent advice and recommendations to the DOE Office of Environmental Management Program. Their focus is on the Superfund cleanup of radioactive waste at the Idaho National Laboratory near Idaho Falls. The board, which was formed in 1994, consists of 12 members chosen to represent a range of perspectives from the local community and surrounding region. We’re proud to continue our involvement in this important work. #IdahoCleanupProject #SuperfundCleanup #CommunityInvolvement #TheLangdonGroup #JUBEngineers #EnvironmentalManagement #SunValleyIdaho

Only at J-U-B! 🏓 The Langdon Group and J-U-B is proud to have helped revitalize Rosewood Park in Salt Lake City, turning a necessary sewer line replacement project into pickleball courts for the community. On September 5th, we joined Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall, Guadalupe School students and teachers, and pickleball enthusiasts for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of eight new pickleball courts. 🌳🎾 This transformation was made possible through the 1800 North Sewer Realignment Project, led by the Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities, Whitaker Construction, WaterWorks Engineers, and our teams at TLG and J-U-B. After identifying an opportunity to incorporate the pickleball courts into the restoration plan, we collaborated to deliver an exciting new space for the community. Our team also came together to donate pickleball equipment to Guadalupe School so that students can continue enjoying the new courts. 🙌 Community impact is what we do best! --- The Langdon Group Whitaker Construction Company, Inc. Congrats to Jennifer Fowler on hitting her 14-year anniversary with The Langdon Group! 🎉 As our Digital and Visual Communication Lead, Jen’s expertise has been a tremendous asset to the team. Her creativity, commitment, and passion have been key to our success, and we’re so grateful for the talent she brings each day. Learn more about Jen below. 🧡 What do you enjoy most about your role at the company? I enjoy the diversity of projects I get to work on and – most importantly – the people I work with. On any given day, I might work on a transportation construction project as well as a park planning effort and a water resource facilitation effort or maybe even a superfund clean-up project. No two days are the same! 🧡 What do you appreciate most about the company culture and values? I love The Langdon Group’s culture of learning and the support for employees to expand their expertise. TLG staff come from a variety of backgrounds and there is always something to learn from someone who went to school for mediation and conflict resolution or someone who brings a public relations lens to the table. Our diverse set of expertise makes us a unique company. 🧡 What advice would you give to someone who is just starting in your role or department? The public involvement industry isn’t likely something you study in college, so when you start at The Langdon Group, it can feel like you are back in school again and learning a whole new language. I like to encourage new hires to ask lots of questions, listen and absorb as much information as possible. It is also important to find comfort in ambiguity. As consultants, we often don’t know exactly how to address the issues that clients want our help solving, so learning to live in ambiguity and discovering the solutions during the process is helpful. 🧡 What are some of your favorite hobbies or activities outside of work? I love photography and it takes up a fair amount of my free time outside of work. I love doing portraiture but also plan most of my vacations around landscape photography opportunities. #Anniversary #EmployeeSpotlight #DigitalCommunication #VisualCommunication #PublicInvolvement #CelebratingSuccess

The Rio Grande runs through Alamosa, Colorado, but the community has not had easy access to the river. In June, The Langdon Group helped host an Open House at the Rio Grande Farm Park for community members to view and ask questions about the first stage of designs for revisioning the riverfront in town. More than 60 community members attended and provided thoughtful feedback to the design team. This project is a partnership led by Rio Grande Headwaters Restoration Project and includes River Restoration, J-U-B Engineers, the City of Alamosa, the Rio Grande Farm Park, San Luis Valley Great Outdoors, and San Luis Valley Conservancy District. The West Davis Highway project is an award winner! Last week at the annual meeting of the Western Association of State Highway Officials (WASHTO), the West Davis Highway project won the regional America’s Transportation Award for the Quality of Life/Community Development category. This $750 million project, designed to ease congestion for a rapidly growing population, is set to reduce traffic on local roads by over 30 percent. With anticipated time savings of approximately $55 million by 2040, it’s a game-changer for commuters. Additionally, we've added nearly 10 miles of new trails, connecting key regional pathways and enhancing active transportation options. Congratulations to everyone who was and continues to be a part of this project. Your work is shaping a better future. #AASHTO #WASHTO #TeamUDOT

On April 24th – 25th, The Langdon Group got together in Utah for their annual meeting. This year’s gathering was structured to dive into the group's internal dynamics, assessing Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT). Each segment was facilitated by various members of the Langdon Group. Each topic encouraged rich dialogue and exploration with special guests that were invited to enhance discussions with their insights and expertise. Now, armed with the outcomes of this reflective session, The Langdon Group is channeling their focus towards aligning their aspirations with tangible goals for 2024-2025. Many thanks to the invaluable contributions of Zan Murray, Vijay Kornala, P.E., P.T.O.E., and Kasey Hansen, whose collaborative spirit enhanced the day’s work. Highlights from the meeting included: 🎉 Strength: An uplifting session where members celebrated successes, shared triumphs, and raised the collective spirit of TLG. 💪 Weakness: Interactive sessions aimed at debunking some misconceptions about the work of our industry and strategizing ways to overcome them. 🚀 Opportunity: Collaborative workshops led by J-U-B experts to unearth avenues for business development and chart actionable plans. ⚖️ Threats: Intensive group sessions delving into potential best- and worst-case scenarios, that our team may encounter. 🗝️ An immersive escape room experience created by TLG's own Jeni Goff, that sparked TLG’s collaboration and problem-solving skills. 👫 Engaging team-building activities that fostered camaraderie and strengthened bonds among TLG members. Together, these efforts strengthened The Langdon Group and prepared the group with insights and strategies to navigate future challenges and take hold of emerging opportunities. #TeamBuilding #AnnualMeeting #SWOTAnalysis #BusinessDevelopment #Collaboration #Success #TheLangdonGroup
