  • You might be wondering - what makes peer mentoring such an impactful service? The answer is lived experiences. Lived experiences refers to the firsthand knowledge gained by someone who has experienced addiction to drugs and/or alcohol first hand. Sharing these experiences with clients currently in treatment helps them connect with the recovery community and provides them with a feeling of hope - that they can be successful in recovery! It takes a lot to share lived experiences with others, and we are grateful for all of our peer mentors and other staff members who share their testimonies with clients and empower them to achieve their goals. We appreciate all that you do for the clients we serve! #mirror #nationalmentoringmonth #peermentoringservices

  • You might hear the terms "peer mentoring" and "person centered case management" used interchangeably, but there are some pretty big differences in these types of services. Peer mentors are peers with the individual in services, using their skills to support the client's goals as needed. Person Centered Case Management is a mentoring process that is lead by the client, or person in services. Person Centered Case Management (PCCM) services focus on each client's personal strengths to build recovery goals. Mirror staff receive training to become certified in Peer Mentoring and PCCM for the state of Kansas - as we believe mentoring services have a huge impact on clients in all stages of recovery. For more information on all of the treatment services that Mirror provides, please visit www.mirrorinc.org. Ready to get started with treatment and are interested in mentoring services? Give us a call at 316-867-0259 to speak with a Client Navigator who can answer all of your questions and get your started with a Drug and Alcohol Assessment! #mirror #nationalmentoringmonth #peermentoringservices

  • Peer Mentors are people who have been successful in the recovery process who help others experiencing similar situations. Through sharing of lived experiences, mentors can connect with clients and help support their recovery goals. Mentoring in addition to treatment curriculum provides a safe space for clients to share their story with someone who has experienced similar situations, learn from their experience, and gain insight on how to continue recovery despite any barriers they may come across. Mentoring connects the recovery community together, and helps build lasting relationships and decrease isolation for those in treatment. To learn more about the mentoring services at Mirror, please visit mirrorinc.org. To get started with treatment please call 316-867-0259 - we're here to support your recovery! #mirror #nationalmentoringmonth #mentoringservices
