At NAFC our key objectives are to destigmatize incontinence, promote preventive measures, motivate individuals to seek treatment, and provide collaborative advocacy and service for those who are affected by this problem. We believe in the preciousness of a life well lived. We believe in the importance of human dignity. We don’t believe that any illness, condition or disorder of the mind or body should cause one shame. We are all more human than not. We all revel in the miracle of our bodies, at the same time that we manage its frailties. We believe that the more people understand what’s happening to their bodies, the less shame and embarrassment they will feel. It is our calling to find and share the right information to ensure that people locate the help they need, identify their options, obtain care, and successfully manage incontinence, voiding dysfunction and related pelvic floor disorders. To us, there is No Shame in Being Human.
