This Black History Month, we remember and honor the millions of African American servicemembers and Home Front workers who helped secure Allied victory in World War II while paving the way for change in the United States. Their extraordinary stories of service, sacrifice, and fortitude can be found in the Museum's special exhibit Fighting for the Right to Fight: African American Experiences in World War II, which is on display now through July 27. Plus, join us on February 15 for a daylong symposium that will dive deeper into topics and themes highlighted by the exhibit, including the turbulent interwar years, the fight for “Double Victory” against fascism abroad and racism at home during World War II, and the postwar Civil Rights Movement.
